I'm thankful for having been raised in a military family and all the hardships that come along with it. Most people would look at it as a negative- super strict father, moving every year, constantly changing schools ( how about 3 schools in 1 year...? ), having to live in a place where you don't even speak the language. But the part I'm thankful for is being able to recognize the positives from all that - due to the strict upbringing, I turned out ok, and in turn I learned how to raise my kids so they're not spoiled brats; I still have friends all over the place, including other parts of the world; and had I not graduated high school in Germany, I never would've met my wonderful wife and be where I am today.

#6 I am sooo thankful for the kindness of strangers. My daughter and I have endured great hardship, as have many others in this day and time. What has kept us going are the hearts of those that don't even know us, they just know we need help. I don't even have words for the feelings that I have, my gratitude is so great that my heart has grown "three sizes" by the kindness shown us by them.
