So a couple of my friends and I all have K100s. Sometimes we swap mods when there is an issue with the rda to diagnose what the problem is. I was looking at my friends setup and noticed the side said "KeCig K100" on the side of the mod, whereas mine says "K100+" .

The one that says "KeCig K100" seems to be more prevalent on the internet. Here's a pic of mine next to the contrasting stock pic I could find.

K100+: k100plus.jpg KeCig K100: kecigk100.jpg

Are these two different mods? Is one of them a clone of a clone?

For what its worth, 2 of my friends have had the "KeCig" one and both of them have stopped working. The most notable physical difference between to two seems to be the 510 connection. The "K100+" model has some ridges around the edge of the connection, and overall looks more sturdy. The gold outer tube on the K100+ also feels "threaded," like the metal has small micro-rings ingrained around it. The outer tube on the KeCig model, however, is smooth.

Can anyone make sense of these shenanigans?

Sorry for the terrible quality, here's a pic I posted in the "Pictures of your setups" thread a while back.

The K100+ was purchased from a local B&M and it came with a blue Kamry vape case. The "K" is also Kamry-style, but it could just be a clone of a clone, who knows.

I didn't even notice the difference at first but there is also quite a difference in quality.

Believe me when I tell you that it isn't at all uncommon for a manufacturer in China to copy the design characteristics of a major brand (especially if it is popular) and sell it as their own - even going so far as to capitalize on their name branding to improve visibility. I'm not necessarily saying that is a good thing, but I can think of at least 5 different products right off the top of my head that were innovated on and improved from their original versions. That K100+ is likely one of these products.

It certainly seems that way. Good to know that the KeCig is the "real" one and the k100+ is likely the clone. I just wish I could find a vendor that sells this clone because it performs way better than the original. I might check back at the b&m where I purchased it and ask them myself. Thanks!

Im interested to know how the 2 kecig ones 'stopped working', i mean its just a battery tube?

I think its the 510 connection. They both just stopped firing. We moved their RDAs onto my mod and it fired fine. Switched out the batteries and everything. As far as I'm concerned, thats the only thing it could be right?

Well, my point is, the thing is so simple theres really only a few reasons why it wouldn't work, and it should be fixable.

They won't fire anything?

Yeah they just don't fire. You press the bottom button in and nothing happens. Is there something in the anatomy if the 510 that could cause this?

Mine is a KeCig that I've had since March I think and use almost every day. Two things come to mind. Is the 510 pin top dirty? Also, the 510 center pin floats so maybe it's stuck low. You could try putting on the atty gently and feel for the connector making contact. I can feel mine before the atty is all the way on. If it's stuck low, try pushing it up from the inside, doesn't take much on mine, put the batt in then put the atty on. Once you feel the pin make contact with the atty before it's all the way down you've got it.
