Granted I couldn't make a proper micro coil for a cotton bed setup with my available supplies, but what I had tried worked quite well for my tastes.

IMO there's no reason for it not to work and probably a hundred different ways to do it ;). RiP Trippers knows what he's doing and he seems to have this working very well: Genesis Atomizer Auto Dripping Mode Using A Micro Coil. Not sure I would like it like that because of the tilt to feed thing, but ConradM's looks pretty slick too :thumb:

Well, IMR batteries are the standard, but I'll read up on whatever other safety measures there may be. Besides, suggestions are what forums are for.

A couple things for starters. Yes, IMR batteries are a safer chemistry battery. That's why I and most people use them. Also there are a lot of cheap, knockoff, relabeled batteries for sale, so going through a "verified" dealer is a must. An understanding of ohm's law, or using an ohm's law calculator to figure out how many amps your atty is drawing compared to how many amps your battery can safely draw. And don't forget the multimeter for checking everything. I don't consider myself an expert, nor would I consider myself capable of explaining all the details coherently, but the information is out there.

Cha. Only thing I'd say is that if you're going to give newbies tips, linking some essential related threads is invaluable.

I read up on all I had to already, but I realize lots of folks aren't as quick on research as I am. Else everything is welcome and appreciated.

this, so much better to put the links to the knowledge there for people... it is their responsibility to do the research, but most people wont, shame on them, most of all though most people wont go looking for it, so if you present it to them, bam, the only excuse is laziness, i know half the time i post a topic i typically say this may be somewhere but... i know shame on me... lol
