Slippery sliding door problem.

Hey Reonaughty's. I know I haven't been around much but that's probably a good thing for you.

I have a problem with a slippery door that I know a Reonaut would know how to fix. The wooden door slides down when I pick up my mod. I've tried putting some lip balm on the edges of the door to no avail. I think I read something about using wax but I don't have any wax around but will get some it that is the only fix.

I hope this solution isn't in Tips & tricks because I didn't look for it. Yes, I'm lazy.

I shamefully admit that this slippery door is not on a Woodvil. Rob's Woodvil doors fit perfect. I've had several and haven't had this problem with any of them. So slap me if you must but I know you people will have a solution.

hey terry, if the door is really that loose just put a few drops of super glue on one side of the door and smooth it out to a film and LET DRY
before putting the door back on. if thats not enough do the other side of the door. if you get too much and the door sticks you can gently sand it to fit.

Are there no magnets? I was thinking wax too. Lip balm is too viscous so it won't hold the door well at all. You'll need a harder wax like parafin wax. If you have a candle...you could try dripping wax and working it in that way.

Magnets...of course! I mean no, there are no magnets and I should have thought of that.

Andy, thanks for your suggestion. I might try that first since it's the easiest to do.

Ok, 2 months away before you start on VV Woodvils? Then how long until they are on your site. I can't get anybody to trade/sell me one so I might have to start saving now. I'm wondering how much time I have.

It will all depend on how many I build . I no not a very good answer truth is I have to sneak wood runs in when I can .

The super glue did the trick. I only had to do one side. Woo hoo! Thank you Andy.

I'm surprised that in the damp climate I live in that the wood shrunk instead of expanded.

Nothing worse than shrinking wood.

Both my VVW and Min Woodvil Black Palm have had this issue and I put a drop in the grooves of the door and let the drop spread down the rest of the track and dry and my doors fit perfectly again! Thanks a ton. Is this in Tips and Tricks? If not, it should be!! Thanks for the suggestion!!!

If your Reo has a varnish finish, let me suggest you apply some Feed-N-Wax to the surface before you drip super glue in the grooves...this will keep the super glue from adhering to the finished surface in case a little bit drips past the groove for the door.
