Much to the sloth's surprise, not only did the famed REO Grand vapemailify into his postal box today, but also his batteries and charger. Yes, this morning, all that stood in the unmighty and sluggish sloth's way is a proper coil and wick. Thus begins tonight's edition of...
*****Sloth's Vapourney****
So, let's begin with a pic. The sloth did try to get his actual digital camera up and running for this, however, he failed to do so, an instant tremor of uncertainty for the REO duties that lie ahead. So the not-so-smart-smartphone was up to the task:

Ok, yes, I realize that last pic is not of a REO, but, it sure is a bad a** looking doggy.
Anyway, the REO. Yes! So the sloth was quite excited. He noticed right away it was easier to build a coil on than even the KFL which is a breeze (that said, Sloth will likely rebuild his coil tomorrow, simply because he wished he had done one thing differently). Naturally, he was terrified of wicking. This is because his wicks are the hardest part, especially in the KFL, also the Protank. Getting that right amount of cotton without blocking the airways causing dry hits or having too little and leaking and gurgling all over the poor sloth's lap is his biggest fear with vaping.
So the sloth, full of excitement, tried to do the best he could. It looked something like this:

Still horrified yet, he put the LP RM2 on his REO, which is yet to be named but will be, and proceeded to...how you say..."squonk"
The sloth squeezed the bottle and JUMPED BACK afraid the house would blow up (terrified of mechanical mods, messing up the device, blowing up the house, everything under the sun with this bad boy). But low and behold, nothing blew up. Some liquid came up and appeared to saturate the cotton wick.
At this point the sloth felt a little bit at ease. His MVP reads the coil at 1.3 ohms, and he used 28g kanthal, 8 or 9 wraps he is not sure because he's a sloth and has a slothlike memory and forgot. But anyway they were around a 5/64 drill bit, yes they were. So he slithered...no that's what a snake does...ummm he slothered over to where he had laid the top part of the RM2, put it on the base, and inserted the drip tip. He began to vape.
At first, he wasn't really inhaling. This is because he doesn't like to inhale until the wick is semi-broke in to try and avoid the cottony taste. But he wasn't per se impressed with the vapor production at this point. Vape...vape. He felt the wick was taking a long time to break in. He set it down. A few moments later he picked it up again, squonked, and vaped. Now the vapor production was on par with the KFL and the taste of his Wakonda as well. He vaped for a while, set it down.
A little later the sloth came back to it. This was maybe 30 hits in total. He picked it up and vaped, and had to sit down. Now the wick was totally rocking. The vapor had surpassed anything he had experienced before--not by a LOT--but some. Plentiful, flavorful vapor. The flavor made him smile. But that wasn't what really got the sloth. Let's pause for another picture, shall we?

That is the sloth's kitty cat, Tifa. Well, she used to be his cat. Now she's ferrell, running around camp and meowing at people from outside their cabins as they try to sleep. When guests inquire about the crazy cat that kept them up all night, he says, "I ain't seen no such dern critter in these hurr parts!"
Yes! So, the REO! That's what this is all about, right?
The sloth does not want to jump to any crazy conclusions about the REO yet, or sing enabled praises to the REO gods yet, because he's still terrified he'll find a way to have nothing but trouble with it for a while. However, he's not sure how.
The REO makes sense, in every single way. It is intuitive, beautiful, and powerful. If a wick needs to be changed, no need to do gymnastics, take off the top part of the RM and change the wick. No dumping of juice, no hassle, nothing. There are also no crazy gymnastics WITH the wick to speak of. Slide it through the coil, clip its ends, push them down a tad bit so they touch the base, and good to go. He sees the bottom feeding aspect of this like a manual transmission, as compared to the automatic transmission of a KFL on an MVP and so on. In fact, *every* single hit he has taken off this thing has been "perfect;" that is, no gurgle, no leak, no dry hit. He got a slight dry hit one time, squonked, done deal. To be honest he really enjoys squonking and is glad that he can do that at his leisure to be sure and avoid dry hits. Any excess liquid is drained back into the bottle for future use. So it's not in the way of rewicking or inspecting his wick and coil.
It fits conveniently in his pocket, better than the MVP2, especially since the RM2 is smaller and shorter than a PT or KFL. He can have full batteries on hand to switch out. The batteries charge quickly and seem to last a good while. He thinks 2 will get him through each day, and he has 4 of them.
He is absolutely positive he will run into some bad wicks and some issues here and there. If he messes something on the REO up, he's horrified, but has replacement parts for almost everything that could go wrong. Fixing it's another story LOL but yeah.
Sloth does have a few questions, but does not want to taint this first post with them. They will follow soon for anyone willing to enlighten him on a few simple things.
The only problem sloth has is that he is wondering how any other device he has can be considered anything other than back up or brief flavor change. And that's nothing against any of these wonderful devices--the MVP2, the rebuilt Protanks, the KFL+. They're great. But this is better.
To sum up his first days impressions...well, funny as it may seem, if he had *one* response he wanted to share with you guys, and one alone, it would be the following...
LOL
