I'm having about a 50% success rate slotting cartos. Some work great, others quickly develop that magical, mystical, gotta frakkin hate it burnt taste. :p Besides being annoying, what a terrible waste!

Comparing the bad and good ones, the only thing I think see different about them is that the ones that burn may be slotted more deeply than the good ones. Or maybe not; I'm not 100% sure. If so, I wonder if I'm severing something vital when I cut too deeply?

The best carto ever came with a tank, punched (not slotted) with 3 holes. So I guess I'll try this and see if my success rate improves.

Just wondering if anyone has any opinion on the performance of slotted vs. punched cartos.

I'm using Boge 2.0s.

you're not alone. just started using tanks recently and having the same issue, some good and some burnt. tried cartos from three different vendors with same irregular results. been slotting them with dremel. I'll listen in for some responses. hopefully someone has the secret. tired of wasting good juice and effort.

I don't slot, never have, so can't compare. I use a saddle valve hole puncher. I punch 1 hole made as big as the saddle valve will make. Punching seems to me, to be easier and less mess than slotting. I use a 70/30 pg/vg mix, so holes of different size, or two instead of one may vary depending on your pg/vg mix. I use both Boges, and Resurrectors.
