Slow vape mail? It could be worse.

At least one politician is expressing concerns over poor mail service, but at what cost? I find this quite amusing and can't help but wonder if it was really just an error:

Fortenberry takes complaints of slow mail delivery to U.S. postmaster; days later, his town hall invites get delayed - Omaha.com: Legislature

I must add for clarification, Bellevue is in the Omaha metro area and a mere 15 - 20 minute drive from downtown Omaha, depending on traffic and time of day.

I particularly liked the statement at the end of the article about his original letter to the postmaster general:

But he said he remains eager to hear the postmaster general’s response to his letter expressing constituents’ concerns about late delivery.

“Maybe she doesn’t have it yet,” Fortenberry quipped of the letter. “Who knows?”

The USPS sucks for sure. I just got another "2nd day priority" delivery today. I ordered last Thursday and had my tracking info an hour later and they accepted it at like 4:00PM that day. That's 6 in a row and 7 of the last 9 that took 3 days or more. And trying to get a refund of the increased shipping charges is a joke. I'm still waiting for them to "investigate" one from 3 months ago.

USPS loves me 10 days to get a drip tip from Vapor dna with shipping I paid extra for. My longest was 22 days for an Odin from Loki Labs I blame continental drift making Texas and California further from each other than they have been for the past 100+ years.

I used to get really upset that "Priority Two-Day" was turning into 5 to 7 days (we live in the boonies), until our Postal Nazi pointed out that DELIVERY IS NOT GUARANTEED to be by any specific date. And sure enough, there's some fine print there on the tracking page that says the estimated delivery date is not a "guaranteed delivery date." It used to be, but not anymore.

I find it extremely infuriating that when something gets "lost," the tracking page changes to "Delivery Exception," and then after I've complained about it enough, someone finds it and gets it back on its way again, and the notice on the tracking page changes to "In Transit, ON TIME." On time? On time for what?

It was on time to be late as hell. :D

I've had so many problems this summer. I was beginning to think USPS has been told to purposely slow down our vape mail. It's getting to the point where I just don't want to order on line any more at all. I've lost over $90 in vape mail this summer due to USPS and their so called claims system that don't get responded to at all. Try getting them on the phone is a joke also. I just got a package from Calf (I'm in Houston) today. It was accepted on the 16th od Aug. The vape site I ordered from was super nice and was going to just re-ship. But I told them to hold up another day or so.

At least you don't have Peter Griffin (Family Guy) for a mailman! He knows if the car is behind the locked gate, somebody is home. He will not leave packages of any size, if it fits in the box, he will leave a damn slip, so I have to drive 50 miles round trip to pick up ma mail! Lol

At first I loved USPS but as I started going crazy with vape gear and ordering more stuff I have stared to see how much they really suck. I ordered some 25Rs Wednesday of last week and my tracking said I'd have em on Monday. Well still waiting and my tracking still says it wi be here on Monday

A "priority" letter or package just means that it goes by air where available. Each Post Office has a truck(s) that go out at a certain time with that day's mail. Usually in the middle of the afternoon to the next point of movement. Businesses should be aware of the time of the last departure. Many aren't. If the business turns the mail over to the P.O. after that time, it sits until the next day's operations/trucks. Some cities, very larger ones, have 24-hour processing. That makes a difference. My state has one city.

It is, compared to other countries, very inexpensive to mail something within the 50 States. In comparison, USPS is cheaper than FedEx and UPS.

One of the biggest tourist gripes about visiting Americans is that they want it a certain way, now.

Some vape businesses prioritize packing and getting it into the van and marked on the computer as shipped with an e-mail going to the customer. That doesn't say anything about the business van getting to the P.O. in time for the truck.

I think there are issues all around for blame.

Not always true. My orders from OSDIY in Colorado never see a plane. They are trucked all the way here to Dallas. Once in a while they end up in Louisiana on the way. I had one that ended up on a plane, though. It went to Miami on it's way here. Then got trucked back to Tx. Apparently the USPS doesn't own a globe. Lol!

Hans, I don't know everything. I asked about Priority Mail and, then, about Arizona. Maybe, by time/speed, it is worthwhile for the P.O. to make the CO-Dallas run via Ground. I would suspect that it is a FULL truck on a one-way run and that Dallas is a large mail processing center.

I, still, think there are issues all around for blame

I've seen the same... I've started taking screen captures whenever I check the tracking, so if I need to print it out, I have it -- because they always do that: don't deliver on the day that tracking says they should... then the next day, the day changes, and it still says ON TIME.

I was a little worried about one that was supposed to be here by today, but it was still showing "arrived at Missoula, MT" at 3am when I went to bed last night... but it actually got here today. YAY!
