I agree with you about the bottom cap, but I am going to have a different one made (probably out of a harder plastic as I think a metal cap will hurt conductivity through the brass battery holder). On the Delrin piece im not too worried, when I got my Panzer Black Hawk the delrin piece with the positive pin had literally fallen out of the top cap all I could do was push it back in, my copper stingray delrin piece is just pushed into the top cap as well albeit very tightly. Having a battery in the device should keep keep it from ever falling out. Now on my Slug the delrin is fit into the top cap very tightly, and as there is not force on the delrin itself because the center pin "floats" i don't think it will cause any problems in the future. I totally agree with your right to not like something you purchased if its just not for you and I do feel that the Slug mod is probably more of a "niche" vaping item than a mainstream mech mod. Have you hit it yet? Mine hits harder than either of my Panzer mods and is very very close to my copper Stingray mod. I guess for all of us there are things we enjoy about items and things we are willing to overlook for our own particular brand of enjoyment, one thing is for certain I haven't found a "perfect" mod yet. Don't ask me about how I just had to redo the threads on my brand new Lotus rba because it would't fit on my mods..lol

I did vape through it a bit and I was neither impressed nor disappointed. It fired fine. Nothing special in my opinion. My nemesis, 69, stingray, gg, king, ela, etc. all fire just as well and are much easier to maintain.

I agree with you. I'm fine with someone liking something I don't, and I'm fine with me liking something someone else doesn't. Just voicing my opinions on this device. I'll be sending this back for repair and will re-examine it when it returns.

Thank you and apology accepted. I edited my perhaps too-harsh description. I was honestly hoping to love this device, but unfortunately upon receipt it just doesn't live up to my expectations. Here are some pictures along with my concerns

I too have edited my original post to take some of the snarkiness out of it. I have had some dealings with brass and wood inserts before and honestly I told myself when I got this mod I wouldn't go taking it apart unless I absolutely had too. Today was the first time I had it apart outta curiosity but I think its just one of those items that needs to be handled a little differently because of the design is a little more complicated. You are certainly entitled to your expectations and having them met, I guess I just looked at this thing differently from the start. One good thing about this thread is people buying or contemplating buying will now have some differing opinions to consider and know a little more about what they are getting or considering getting.

Does anyone know where the Slugs are available? I keep missing chances to purchase one!

EDIT:
Just bought one from LocalVape ... they have a few left if anyone wants one

Also, yes I have used one before, although they're brass pins this thing works well, on par with my Nemesi (plural of Nemesis) and Kings

I'm currently vaping on a Slug and as Hana Modz DNA30. Both machines are a work of art. One classical and the other futuristic. Both vape very well and I was surprised to how hard the Slug hits for something that has an innovative design. SO hard hitting that 4mg nic juice at 100% VG feels like double its nic at 50/50. I don't know if I'm too sensitive or its just been made this way but on the Hana Modz DNA30, I vape 8mg 50/50 at 20 watts and I'm fine.

Having said that, I've decided to sell or trade my Slug within a month . I'm currently custom making the bottom screw cap to brass and also swapping the fire pin spring to a copper spring. It will be complete and ready for the collectors of our market.

I'll take a cap if you make more than one!

Hellooo there ! A fellow slugger ! Any friend of the slug is a friend of mine !

I definitely would have to order more than one . They wont build less than 10 copper springs . I'm waiting for the response on the bottom caps. Would be glad to ship some out to you. No worries.

Wanted to ask you about the Slug and King. How do you see the Slug comparing to the King when it comes to flavor and throat hit in general. Lets assume that you use the same atty on both, with the same juice. Whats your feeling on Flavor, vapor quality, cloud etc between the 2.?

Thanks

FYI for anybody that wants to take apart their Slug mod and put it back together, steel punk has put up an assembly video here

Sorry to say but that video sucked big time. This video is the whole reason my spring melted in to 2. On the other hand, its also the reason why I'm building an even stronger and springier spring from copper.

Well, see that depends on a couple factors.
If I were to use one of my King mods (if doing a comparison test to the slug) I would use the copper pins (same pins as the slug, I have the silver plated Surefire pins a well).
You know what let me build......
Okay so its been about 15 mins and I've picked everything out and assembled it.
I have a Zenith v2 / dual coil / 24g kanthal / 0.24 ohms / both AFCs fully opened / using Gulaman at Sago by VapeOHolic....
On the King with copper pins the flavor is great (8/10), vapor quality about (7/10), and overall cloud (7/10)
On the Slug the flavor is the same (8/10), vapor quality (8-9/10), and cloud (8-9/10).
I think the difference is the Copper half-tube or maybe I am favoring the Slug at the moment.
I rate the "vapor quality" and "cloud" to be the same because that's what I believe you're referring to, if I am wrong please inform me.
Take in mind I used only 4 wraps, so with the AFCs fully opened that added more "regular" air into the mix, possibly diluting flavor.
If I was to the the same test with the King's silver plated pins it performs slightly better, if not on par with the Slug. Take in mind before tested I cleaned both mods and all contacts.
