I had some time today since I was sick (Lyme Disease) and broke out some of my equipment. I had an old ego twist with carto setup. Forgot how nifty that little thing was. I remembered how nice the small drip tip felt. So, I took off the drip tip and put it on an ego aio I had and didnt really care for. Let me tell ya, I LOVE that ego aio now with the smaller drip tip. Never thought just changing the drip tip would make a huge difference, but it definitely did to me.

Not sure this will help anyone, but if you find something that is just not right with your setup, try a different drip tip. See if it makes a difference in comfort and/or function.

yes, they do make a difference, I found my perfect drip tip 2 years ago ... it was only available with a bellcap kit from FT

the quality of the stainless is excellent and was still cheap at $4 each.

Ive always found that the drip tip was just as important as the device or atty, not only for appearance but functionality.

Definitely. I found out much too late in the game, but I think im going to sit down at the pc and shuffle through FT and make a sizeable drip tip purchase of various styles. Who knows just how much of my ancient equipment may actually be useable now? Love love love my Engine Nanos, Picos, Alien setups. But have been searching for MTL setups for work to eliminate clouds around co workers and management. With a new drip tip the ancient stuff in the sock drawer might just be what I was looking for. Actually the ego aio will be hitching a ride to work tomorrow. But I may have a different setup for every day of the week with the perfect drip tip!

Wouldn't surprise me if many of those that complained about cartos were using a tight tip. I switched to the real dripping type tips quickly.

If a carto is drawing tighter than the third holes on a nautilus tank, it's not maximized for AF yet. At least that's the way my Boges ran for me.

Full open on the nautilus is just a bit more AF than my cartos ran.

The right mouthpiece does make a big difference. A smaller bore reduces airflow and condenses the vapor, increasing flavor. RDAs usually come with wide bore chuff caps but I'm using a KF4 tip on my new Hobo, which is delightful.

I also found drip tips to enhance the flavor at lower watttages, almost a MTL experience in a lot of situations. I have several different ones for different juices.
