I can't carry around anything bulky at work, so I need a good, but very small battery.

Some of my thoughts:

  • Replaceable battery (14500 I've been seeing a lot of online?)
  • I already have an Aerotank Mini, so:
    • eGo
    • 14 mm diameter or there-about's
  • Relatively sturdy - it will be in my front pocket, and I've already bent some atomizers in the past
  • Oh yea, budget is a factor, i'd like to keep it cheap, but don't mind spending a little for quality and durability

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
MO Bacon

If you don't plan on going super sub ohm, I'd say an 18350 mech and a tank or decent rda. I use a vanilla mod clone in 18350 mode and carry an extra battery, it gets me through an entire workday and it stands up to the stress of construction work. With the mod being so short and because the atty screws down tightly, it is rugged and won't easily bend or break. Any decent quality mech in 18350 mode would work I'd say, I recommend the vanilla for its nice heavy threading and good looks of course. Plus it can be bought with both a 350 and a 650 tube. Make sure you verse yourself in battery/mech mod safety if you aren't already.

Have you thought about a mechanical mod? The stick batteries don't have the capability to replace the internal battery. A Nemesis clone could support multiple sizes of batteries, small to large. You can find one for about $20 and they're very durable.

Otherwise, your best bet would just be a small eGo battery. I'm pretty sure they make them in 300 or 400 mah and they're very short.

The mini's are very nice. Easy to carry and stealth with. I use them until I can find a suitable regulated, removable battery mod. :)

That Smoktech Gripper is very intriguing - if you don't use the extension and an added tank, what is in that second tube? A form-fitted Smoktech atomizer?

Any XL carto. Needs to be < 9mm dia and > 44mm length. I haven't tried dual coils in it since they tend to be 11mm dia and I don't have any laying around. Someone else can chime in on whether those work.

Also the little Nano clearos fit beautifully - if you can stand those drip tips. I couldn't. But they are easy.

With the extension, i16's have been working for me just fine. They have that extra ego skirting to cover up the part of the extension that sticks up. I don't know what tank was in that picture, but I'd like to know.

I'm a chain vaper and a 18350 can last a day (8hrs). The threads are smooth, the rest is, well, plastic. Don't tighten the 510 connection in real hard. If your using carto's, you may want to consider drilling a couple of small air holes in the second tube, which is easy since your not having to drill through metal. I've had mine for over a year with no issues.

Another pocket friendly mod is a VMod. There's a 50% off coupon right now. ECF has quite a bit of info on them. Code: VM5PFF off their express kits exp 8/19.

You can use an XL (45mm) single or dual coil cartomizer for a low profile use, the connector for the carto is in the bottom of the mod. With the $4 extender, you can use any other juice delivery device such as a 510 drip atomizer, cartotank, or ego/510-threaded clearomizer.

I usually use a 15mm IBTanked cartotank on mine with the extender; even with a cartotank attached, the entire setup is still easily hidden in your hand. I use an AW button top 18350 IMR battery and can get nearly all day use with it. Smoktech Gripper
