Today I was at the grocery store and just bought a few things so I loaded them into the front seat. I also threw my purse in the front seat. The wind kicked up and started the cart rolling so I slammed the door and dove for the cart. When I got home I discovered my purse was gone! That had my credit card, I-Pod, phone .I.D.'s and 3 VKs in it.
I flew back to the store and the counter service lady looked up before I could say a word and handed me my purse. She said someone found it in the parking lot!
Not a thing was missing..the purse was open and you could see my wallet and I.D.

I Love living in a small town!:D

Lived in an area of almost 1 million for most of my life.

Moved to a town of 8,000 last August and I love it. They keep asking why I would move away from the "big city" and seem mystified.

People talk to you, look you in the eye and smile. They wave as you drive by. You don't have to worry not to pull up too close to another car at a stoplight and leave room in case someone tries to carjack you. You don't have to keep your purse on the floor between your feet in the car or sling it across your shoulders so someone can't grab it in the parking lot. The cost of living is much less. Families & neighbors gather and do things together.

I will moving back to Tampa by the end of the year. I will enjoy being home again after 18 years..but I will miss the wonderful people of this town.
After the hurricanes we ate outside with our neighbors and helped each other with whatever they needed. 3 weeks of no power tends to draw people out of a hot house! I love walking in a place and know someone there, I like the service people that come out to the house and tell you just to mail them a check when you can.
It refreshing to meet kids that call you Miss and Ma'am. I once worked in a video store here and a group of kids with all the trapings of a gang came in. I was alone and new. They came up to the counter and said "Hey you are new, glad to meet you!"
We have never had a crime in this neighborhood. granted on my "Block" there are only 12 houses in a square mile...lol!

Great story......but it doesn't just happen in small towns.

Lost my wallet with 2 credit cards, drivers license and $200 in cash at Summerfest in Milwaukee. 100,000 people in attendance.

I panicked a bit and ran to the lost and found help station. Someone had already turned it in and absolutely NOTHING was missing. Unbelievable really. I asked if they had any info on my benefactor, but sadly they had none.
