Marlboro uses them in their promotional coil lighter and doubt they would risk explosion law suits

Because nobody is more corporately responsible regarding the health and welfare of their customers than Marlboro

Just poking ya BJ;)...just couldn't let it go :D

Dead short? I don't define my 2.4 to 3 ohm coils as dead shorts and 3 to 4 second draws of current on these high drain lipos is not dangerous, what is dangerous is overcharging and under voltage below 3.3 volts, I have been using lipos on all my RCs, helli, airplane, cars, trucks, and boats and have never had a problem. Over a year ago I converted all my ecig mods to lipo including a lipo dock for my PTs. All my lipos are used with protection and warning if any safe parameter is exceeded. Even my dremel and hand drill have been molded to lipos.

Wow, seems I'm way behind the curve on this Lipo thing...to the RC shop I go...although that is NOT a good store for me to go to, the last time I went to an RC shop to get brass tubing I was there for over 2 hours...waaaay to many cool toys, they had an exact scale fully functional RC model of a Caterpillar Excavator there, are you kidding me! it was 3' tall...not bad for $2500, when you think about it, between vaping or RC toys my wife should count her lucky stars:laugh:

LOL cheap, you wouldn't believe what my 1/3 scale J3 Cub on pontoons cost and I built it myself, uses a 50cc chain saw motor.

1/3 scale!, can you ride in it?...amazing BJ... funny you should mention float planes...a buddy emailed me a couple days ago this you tube clip of how they get a float plane back in the air after they land it on a grass field...they put it on a flat deck trailer and haul it down the strip with a pick up...suddenly it just lifts and gone...

if you ask me, I'd rather see the grass field landing...who was the first guy to say "oh ya, this'll work":laugh::laugh:

Sorry if i made you madd bj4 that was not my goal at all. And as far a a dead short, i guess it should be called a load instead, my only concern is that a battery will but out what the load ask of it and it might be or might not be to fast of of a discharge and beside that im fine with the batteries use now. And again sorry if i made you madd

lol I am to old to get mad, and am the first to warn people on batteries, a large majority of the people here are dangerously overloading their batteries with LR coils, every time I hear of two or three wrap coils it makes me cringe. My reference was that lipos used properly can be safer for high drain as they are 20c and over. No apology necessary.

I guess my .9 ohm helical dual coil Ody wrap must have made you stroke out :D (almost made me stroke out) but I totally agree, if I read "will this cell phone battery work?" one more time...pfft?...as a licensed electrician I've fixed some pretty nasty..."creations" in my time, I really think peeps should not be messing with mods till they have at least a basic understanding of ohm's law...large current flow isn't necessarily a scary thing, unless the equipment carrying/providing it is at the limit of it's design perimeters. In theory I could build a mod that would safely vape at 300A (not that you'd want to try it, lol), I could also build a mod that would blow up in your face at 700mA...learn the math, your teeth and face will thank you :)

There really isnt that much of a difference between li ion and li po batteries. If mis-used they both will blow up the same. li po's are just the next generation of li ion. The primary difference is that the lithium-salt electrolyte is not held in an organic solvent but in a solid polymer composite such as polyethylene oxide or polyacrylonitrile. Newer generation li po's have very high discharge rates. they are more then capable of handling the amps required to vape. When used with a protection circuit li po batteries are no more dangerous then a protected li ion. I believe the Commercially made mod the Darwin uses a li po battery. So anyways dont fool yourself using a li ion battery is just as dangerous as using a li po.

Ok I just trying not too make anyone mad im here to make friends not enemies. Lol and i will be the first to admit im no engineer, I just started making mods after i dropped and broke my lava tub. After I made the repairs I decided I wanted something more durable.lol
Great and welcome, you will find many friends here with a lot of experience willing to help and share. If you want to build VV box mods look here.
