Smart Flavours

I was reading some paper (maybe can find later) about trends in flavors, more for foods than vaping obviously, and they mentioned things like the flavor changing experience they have for Stride gum. Best I know, there haven't been any flavors like that used for vaping, but if anyone has info on those feel free to share.

I've been looking around bigger flavor manufacturers, the ones that probably only sell large amounts, and came across this place called Robertet. Check out the non-conventional aromatic solutions, I can't imagine what their sensory modified flavors would actually taste like, but seems like they might be useful for vaping.

Anyone ever tried getting samples from bigger companies like this? Kind of a random question tacked on... what is a good flavor to make things more bitter?

I'm not too sure that the flavor change thing would work with vaping. I don't know precisely how it works though. But I do know that there are a lot of tried-and-true flavoring companies that the suppliers and DIYers use here on a regular basis.

Are you looking because you do DIY?

EDIT: I could have sworn I was in a different section . . . duh, you DIY. Sometimes it takes a while for the light to turn on sometimes, LOL!

How about FlavourArt Bitter Wizard? It's marketed to reduce base liquid sweetness.

Or-- you could evaporate tonic water down to a fraction of it's original volume and add some of that. It contains quinine, which is quite bitter. You might also find quinine bark in a health food store and make a tea from that.

Balance your juice ! With the Bitter Wizard we are glad to announce another new development, designed to reduce or eliminate the sweet basic taste given by PG or VG. Adding the BW at 1%, vapers can get a pleasant bitter aftertaste, which can be enhanced further increasing the dosage. BW blends well with dark and tobacco flavors. Give it a try. The bitter taste you were looking for.

Guess I just forgot about this stuff. I'll try it sometime, not sure if I actually want sweetness "reduced or eliminated" in all cases though. I still haven't gotten into all of my DIY flavors yet, just thought some flavor on it's own might be good.

I know TFA works with about 3 larger flavor manufacturers, but there are a lot more out there.
