Smell Burning and Hear Sizzling...

So, I am start to smell smoke. Start running around the house looking for the source. Hear a sizzling noise and try to pick up my Kangertech SUBVOD and burn my hand. Drop it and pick it up with a towel. I can feel how hot it is through the towel and can hear the sizzling getting louder. Thought it was going to explode and the water in the toilet seemed to cool it down. It was as hot as a nuclear meltdown!

Anyone have this experience on any setup? I heard of some cell phones blowing up. I had verified my three subvod kits were not knockoffs. I love the subvod battery and toptank nano combination and the coils last forever.

Any new technology, battery, or tank recommendations out there? Obviously I am in the market for a new setup :/

It sounds like the mod auto-fired incinerating your atomizer, this may have caused the battery to vent or become irreparably damaged.
Open the atomizer up and have a look, and post some pictures.

Yes, the coil was burnt to death and fell apart upon disassembly. The battery just kept firing and battery acid was leaking everywhere. There was acid in the air.

Holy crackers, I thought this sort of stuff only happened with 18650 bats!

How can a mod auto-fire, do they all do that or does the Subvod just lack protection?
