Thank's for your reply. I got the Gun Metal Version and i would like to say that is Perfect. I started charging with Micro USB today and all i can say so far is good. I posted this thread so i wanted to know people's thoughts. Also it's small and powerfulI've had one for the past couple weeks. It's the only mod I use at home right now. Reviews say the paint chips easy but mine is holding up. Can't say about the charging, I only charge my batteries externally. But I'm using Sony VTC5A's and get about 2 days out of one charge running anywhere from 30-50W.

Alien is one of the best mods i ever gotI got the gun metal as well!!
I just wanna say that this mod is fantastic. I got it on good authority that while it is preferred/recommended to charge the batts via external charger, it is quite safe (as long as it is monitored) to charge them inside the mod. The balanced charging is awesome! So far I got a huge nic buzz from trying it out...! Its a huge leap from the cool fire 4 plus with iSub Apex that I was using. The flavah from the Baby Beast is amazing... I'm in love with this lil guy!!!!!

I love baby beast its so far one of my best atomizers for my opinion.. but im thinking of getting the cloud beastI am also a fan of my Alien. I only use an external charging, but have heard recommendations when using the on-board charge to occasionally reverse the batteries. I am no expert in that area, but sounds like a good idea to me FWIW.
And I agree the Baby Beast is a really nice vape, but am finding the Big Baby Beast to be comparably nice with less filling of the tank.

Yeah. With 6 ml tank, huge and powerful coils it makes it Cloud beast and flavor beast xDThe TFV8 is a very nice tank as well, just vapes different then the Big and Baby Beasts.

I charged mine yesterday and last night (before bed). I can honestly say, Yes it does do balanced charging as I witnessed it. The batteries stayed within 1% of each other, I promise.About what's going on with mine one..
Paint is peeling off with less than 2 months.. I don't think this should be acceptable even cause the alien is one of the 3 mods I rotate.
Software is OK, but Preheat is missing. ... man, every mod, even much cheaper like istick 100 tc got it. OK, they've updated the istick recently.. But smok alien is not cheap as istick is. Also painting job done in the istick is so far the only one did not peel off.
Charging on it, well, is difficult to say. I don't charge thru USB. 1st reason I don't think the alien will balance the batteries. Second, most mods will stop charging when one of the batteries reach 4.2v, so the other one will have a different value. 3rd, smok does not incentive you to charge always thru the mod.
Get a charger, a nitecore D2, Xtar Vc2, nitecore D4, Xtar vc4, vp4. Nitecore does the job well and will cost you around 22 bucks.
Apart of this, good mod. Compact, pretty, nice and very informative display. Just preheat is missing in my humble opinion.
Edit
Seats attys up to 25mm well. It will overhang a little bit big, less than 1mm.
In the pic, a Griffin 25mm mini.

Huh, well the guy says that USB charging is fine and that he recommends unplugging right after it reaches 100%, which I do anyway. I mean I am going to purchase a charger but yeah, I constantly check it while it is plugged in to make sure nothing is going wrong. I'm sort of .... about it. Thank for the info.Take a full read of this,

Charging batteries is not the main feature of a mod. Smok Alien does charge without big problems, but there's some minors problems. You will find them at the link above.
That's why we have good chargers around the market. Make yourself a favor, and also a favor for the longevity and safety of your batteries, and your safety too mate. Get a charger when possible! [emoji6]
