Congrats you stuck with it and got it going, I ran into that with the Kanger RBA deck and the Vaperesso RBA tanks. With the smok BBB RTA I didn't have any leaking problems, I've gotten used to the smok vaporizer and just about always use it, been bringing it with me and the top never opened.

Great job! When it comes to your own builds, the truth is the coil itself is no biggie. The wicking is where the art is, and it's something you sorta figure out by practice and feel. I've been building only a little while so I have to pay attention to my wicking as it's not something I can do with my eyes half closed.

I recently got a tank with a pretty unusual deep juice well that takes a massive amount of cotton to fill. First time I wicked it I thought "plenty in there" and nope, the juice dumped right out. Second time almost double the amount of cotton, thought "this looks plain nuts and will never pull juice in" and it worked like a charm. Live and learn.

I couldn't agree more regarding the wicking.
A coil and tank is only as good as the users wicking, I had to learn it the hard way back in the day.

Wicking is the root of leaks, dry hits, weak flavor, etc..
I rewicked my friends tank using the same coil /juice he had in there, the flavor literally doubled. This is especially true when it comes to temp control builds too.

Too much wick will choke the juice from moving, too little wick will cause leaks and not enough cotton touching the coil surface area causing early hit control message.

Ah yes, the art of wicking. I'm finding that out...and that each rebuildable comes with it's own unique set ups. Part of what I enjoy about the building side of things - working out how to get it right and having a bit of a challenge rather than just whacking a manufactured coil in & away you puff.

The further I move away from that serious sense of fear and desperation that follows you as a newly quit smoker (where vaping is all about just getting that nicotine into your system as quick as possible) the more I enjoy the joys of vaping. I can see it as an enjoyable passtime all of it's own and not just an alternate nicotine delivery method.

As I'm finding out the more I build my collection each company has their own 'style' too so what worked for one brand doesn't translate to another.
I found my first mod - the Kanger Topbox RBA - was a bit temperamental with regards to getting the wicking just right but that was a piece of cake compared to the recent Smok challenges.
But IMHO the rewards with any RTA are worth any issues it can throw at me; better/clearer flavour, preference, customisable builds etc..

Coil building kit arrived so I've spent the last few days working on building a few coils. Nothing fancy yet but can see there's a whole new world of fun to be had there too.

Thanks for the ideas, probably wouldn't have persisted without the help so this grasshopper thanks you master vapers
