How long did you run the tri coils and any problems with the tank seal when you took it apart? I want to try the quad coils but so far the tri coils i am using are running fine and I am worried about the seal cutting.

I ran the triple for about 2 weeks. No real issues with it other than I just really wanted to try the quads when I got them in. I luckily had no isues with the glass sticking to the bottom seal. when i reassembled the tank i put a couple drops of PG on the seal to hopefully alleviate the issue for the next time I took the tank apart. I think next time I am going to polish the bottom of the tank. I could see and feel a bunch of really small chips from the manufacturing on the glass. Comparing it to my Subtank there is a huge difference and I see why some people have a problem with the seal ripping.

And like had been said in this thread a couple times, the quad has better flavor than the triple. nice and smooth vape off it to. Nice even hissing as I fire it. the triple, while I never got spitting, it would pop on occasion during the draw. with the quad that is gone. one thing I have noticed is that after taking a hit off it, I see small air bubbles coming out o the coil in only one spot. as if the coil is feeding juice from only one spot. I know its not, I'm not even getting a hint of a dry hit or anything, I just thought it was funny that air only comes out of one spot. regardless which way I tilt the thing air only comes out of one spot.

Rix, Yea I couldnt afford this tank if I still bought juice. I buy essential depot PG and VG from amazon.com. Only way to vape, mixing my own...

Not to get too far off topic, but if I do try the TFV4 I know I will need to start DIY. Anyone have any 'getting started' links for this that are good? I have checked out the DIY forum but too much to digest there.

here is a link to @Kaezziel 's blog entry, where he has copied the resource links another member @Sir2fyablyNutz has collected for intro to DIY - don't let it overwhelm you though - the process, overall, is very simple... one of the primary things to keep in mind is remember your safety precautions (glove, mask, long sleeves, ventilation) when working with concentrated nic base - and keep asking questions... :)

I have been using mine for a couple weeks with the quad coil, i havent tried the tri or either the single or dual rba sections yet. I havent leaked one drop with the quad and although i do like my crown tank better this tank works well. I think i like my crown better becuse i just cant run the wattage up where it needs to be on this coil before the vape gets too hot for me.

The best resource for DIY is the ECF DIY threads. It is a lot of reading but I have not found anything even remotely close to it.

I found 90w to be the sweet spot for the quads..

Just noticed the color of your nicotine. It is suppose to be clear and yours is brownish. Thats from oxidation and will give you more of a throat hit/harsher. Get yourself some 100mg nicotine and some amber glass 250 ml & 100 ml bottles. Keep one 100ml bottle for daily usage and the rest bottle up and freeze. Put each bottle in a double ziplock bag to prevent it from contaminating anything if it leaks and place it in your freezer and it will last for years. When you need some get it out of the freezer and let it warm up enough where you can pour some into your 100 ml bottle and put the rest back into the freezer. Frozen nicotine will store well over 5 to 7 years and I heard of one guy who is going on 11 years with no problems. I am at one year with mine and got a bottle out around a month ago and it was clear and still tasteless.

Trying out the Ti coils today. So far we have a very flavorful vape @ 572/100 Joules. Very impressive as I am new to all this temp control but decided to just skip on and try Titanium.
View attachment 486902View attachment 486903

So my follow up on the TI coil is the flavor is good but not quite as good as quad coil after 5 tank fulls. I think I would be interested in trying an Ni of the Crown if I continue to play with the temp control. P.S. Juice consumption was the same as all the other coils.

However I still feel that even though the quad on this tank is EXTREMELY impressive that I still reach for my .25 Crown tank vs. the .15 Quad TFV. The reason is probably just easier fill up using a standard glass dropper. The TFV I pretty much use a napkin every time and I usually remove the white seal so the dropper makes less mess and reaches the large hole under the seal. For this reason the Crown is just easier & faster to fill up which is important when you crank through the juice! I still feel it (Uwell) is equal (arguably better) in flavor in every way at the 80-100 watt range and a cooler vape at my favorite 90 watt range. Coil life is also equal on both tanks in my experiences.

The quad coil offers only the ability for me the ability to experience a toasty flavorful 150 watt vape as it's strongest buzz factor and the 1ML improvement over the Crown is off set by extra hassle in filling it. I would not kick this tank out of my rotation because of the .15 experience @150 watts.

That is after 6 weeks or so of testing and comparing. The TFV is still a fantastic tank and I have four of them and the 5th one on it's way I will probably sell in the classies. I received 2 more Crown tanks (seeking specifically the model that comes with three .25 coils in packages) which is getting hard to find this last week as I become more convinced I reach for that tank more.

I think SMOK is going to make a killing on coils getting people to "try" all the ones they are cranking out. :) Increasing the attachment rate of coils per tank sold regarding a selling strategy.

Next up....Sense Cyclone and I hope the top fill is EZ breazy.

I heard a lot of good about the Crown so had to order one. With luck it will be at the house by Thursday.

I started with it 1st. It is a helluva tank. You can get some spit back during the 1st couple of tanks but I keep them cranked at 100 watts 110 watts to speed up break in and then it's smooth sailing @ 90 watts for the next gazillion times you use it.

Really I think everyone should have a Crown @.25 and a TFV4 @ .15 if they want to experience 80-100 watt vaping. Both of these coils are fantastic AND if you think temp control is important and a "vape experience" you favor... I encourage you to at least try these coils at 65/75 watts. :)

Great, thanks @sd3614. I am vaping my tfv4 at 100W, but never tried the crown that high. I am going at 50W and thought it is good. Just pushed it up to 80W and wooooaaaah flavooor :D

Stupid me, thanks for the hint... not sure why I did not try that.

I kid you not, I just opened a new Crown tank 30 minutes ago and I am 115 watts on the .25 coil. Clouds brother and flavor :) Feels like a TFV4 at 95 watts temp wise. 125-130 I feel is the max safe limit of the coil. Above this is strictly TFV4 .15 ohm territory.

Disagree mate, some nic is darker than others but any supplier will tell you it doesn't mean much at all. Nothing wrong with my nic :thumb: It's no where near as dark as the pic makes out. I'll take a pic tomorrow bro. It's from everything liquid, some of the best quality nic in the UK

After 12 days with the triple coil (first one was 15 days without a problem), this one starts to decrease now noticeably. It started yesterday with a slight different aftertaste and it is time to change again I guess. I will post pictures again, curious how this one looks like. So 10 days, 20ml a day is possible for me and I am still on the safe side then.

I've had my TFV4 for three days now. Using the triple coil head, and using a Sigelei 150w TC and set at 100w. So far vapor and flavor have been amazing for me. Haven't gotten any dry hits and no leaking. Hoping to try the Quad Coil once the triple coil goes and see how that experience is. But so far, I love this tank, and going to probably order a few more. :)
