I finally got my black TFV4. It looks a little silly on my VS DNA200 but it vapes like a train with the sextuplet coils. I also got the Ti coils to try TC. Eventually this will go on my cloudmaker and I'll get a mini TFV4 for the VS.

I was curious what that setup would look like -- where did you get your black TFV4 from, out of curiosity?

It truly does look terrible on a VS200, it doesn't look so bad in your pic, but in person I can't stand it. I have the SS one, and never put it on my vs200 for that reason.

I've also received my black TFV4 after, once again me and my Crown tanks have fell out lol, I always seem to come back, why do I ever bother leaving..

Anyway, seeing as we're on the subject, I am having a custom made HexOhm box made that has the DNA200 chip in to accommodate my black tank, can't wait to show you guys :)

Oh, and I was lucky enough to see the mini tank yesterday (review sample), the O rings are slightly different to stop them sticking but I dread to think how many times peeps will be refilling it. I've had zero problems with the normal sized black tank, the mini is a no go for me personally.

Custom Hex with a DNA200?
Jeez man. How much that thing gonna run you?
Yup that's exactly it, I'm even having the hexohm symbol engraved into it instead of etched, the cost is still being discussed but it's probably eye watering. The money I have saved on smokes is the only way I can justify it lol

Since I travel for work, I can not often order online. I see the TFV4 at vape shops, but coil availability seems to be hit and miss. I dont want a situation like with the Atlantis V2 where you are always improvising. The Atlantis sits unused, as the Crown and Arctic are performing better with commonly available 0.5 ohm dual coils. Anyone have experience with local availability of TFV4 coils?

As a newbie, I find the 0.2 coils on any tank too harsh, and the nickel TC coils too weak. I vape the Crown in the 60s with the 0.5, and the Arctic 10 or 12 watts lower. This with 3 nic and 70 or 80 pct VG, mod is IPV Li 3.

Can the TFV4 perform with what I can find and without the lowest resistance coils?

Since I need to shop in BNMs, I guess I need to stick with the more common tanks. Herakles on list..... I have tried other peoples Herks twice, and some things I like, others not, based on very limited use with juice flavors I hated.

So, is the TFV4 realistic, or is my next addition the Herakles, or other? Thanks

Its tough to say. The TFV is still relatively new (released in Aug I believe).
I bought mine from a B&M in North FL when they just came out. Im in the same boat as you. Travel alot. I havent had a chance to stop into any more B&Ms since then, but will be hitting a few in the next few weeks. Ill keep an eye out to see what the landscape looks like. As far as the coils go, I would imagine the most common ones will be the tri/quad coils in B&Ms. Those crank surprisingly well.

Ha. I wish I could justify it like that to the Mrs! I told her this would save money! (shes still a dirty smoker)

I'm single now soooooo, nobody is peckin my head when I want to overly treat myself ha

Ya, I dont get the love of the mini.
I guess if you are the .... type and absolutely cannot stand overhang, than you get the mini, but it seems so vain to me. I didnt mind the overhang at all. Im not willing to lose the capacity to downsize. I just bought a bigger mod to fit the tank instead ;)
Same mindset :thumb:

Realistic, Hmmmm, only if your in one place, then bulk buy the coils to last you when your travelling......and repeat when needed.. Personally, I love my Subtank Mini on the coolfire, it's my take out device and out of all the tanks that I have bought and sold, the mini stays. I wouldn't call the TFV4 a travel friendly device, its big and bulky and pretty heavy, then you have the mod on top of that. It's a difficult one for sure.

depending on you often you are home i would just order a couple packs of coils on fasttech and just wait for them to arrive while you are out traveling. at less than half the price of some vape shops its worth it IMO.

as for the coils themselves each one i have tried has been great. it looks like smok is releasing more coils now with the tfv4 mini that are higher resistance. im sure you can find something you will like. i really like that smok is going full steam ahead with the current coil format. it would be nice if they stick with it for at least a couple generations. im sick of having to buy coils for each new tank a company comes out with. it also looks like it will be possible in this case. with how large the coils are smok has a footprint as large as they would ever need to design new coils.
