I have a VMAX Mod that I have used and loved. The adjustments and look and power of this unit was very nice. Recently however it seems it shorted or something. It just stopped working when I was trying to set up my AGA T-2 tank. Now when I put batteries in it, it seems to just do a count from 1-9 then shut off. It wont show anything on the display nor will the button light up or anything. Removing and installing the batteries again repeats this same thing. I was wondering what the deal is with this. I wanted to know if there was a way to fix it and if so, how?

I'm not sure that will work. Mine has been funky since day 1......it does not display battery life or ohms resistance...even when I set it to do so. I won it online in a contest though, but it does still fire at least.

Mine started to act funny when I put my aga-t on it too. I had it short once at the bottom, it started a mini fire in my mod and since then its acted very weird. I think yours might have bit the dust though. Have you tried putting 2 batteries in it that worked for mine once.
It doesn't do anything after the count on the screen. The button doesn't work, screen doesn't turn on, it doesn't fire. It does't do anything. That's my problem haha.
Yeah. I have two sets of batteries, they both work. It being shot is what I was afraid of. I still have hope there is some life in it since the screen turns on for counting then shuts off.
You have to GET to the On/off screen somehow and make sure it is set to ON. Sounds like its set to OFF. If you see anything at all for a second (like a fast shutdown) it is not dead....the OFF setting is on.
The only thing I see is the flash of 3 screens. It goes 123, 456, 789 then its off
Ah, you can't even get to the 3rd screen......hmmm.....how long have you had it? Is it still under warranty? Sounds like the chip is fubared.

you have a same problem with me but mine finally solved..
Its starts when i'm using v-core 2.0 tank. tank resistance is 1.8ohm and should be no problem
with vmax. because vmax only can firing above 1.3ohm. if low than 1.3ohm it will show F1 status.
if lower than 1.0, it will shown F2.

when i plug in the v-core tank it show F1 status, then i removed it and plug it again.
It still show F1 status, then F2 status appear then my display suddenly off. when i'm pressing the button for few times nothing
appear on the screen. then i took out the batteries and reinsert it back. it show the 123 456 789 then off..
what i do, next day i return it to the seller and he give me a new one. Lucky it still under warranty.

the next day, i still want to try to use my v-core tank on my vmax. same problem happen again. I'm really frustated with this mod
because it seem like dont have any short circuit protection. i return to the seller again and this time they did not give me a new one.
They take it and sent it to their technician. after one week, i got my vmax again. untill now i'm still vaping using this mod but never ever

so I got a response from iVape. I purchased this MOD on clearance so they couldn't really help me out. It wasn't on warranty. They did tell me to check a pin on the inside that could be causing it to short. I appreciate them getting back to me and sending me a little troubleshooting idea. They didn't need to since it wasn't under warranty but did anyway. Thanks for the help people.
Ah, I didn't know u bought it on clearance. Glad Joe got back to you, and I hope you can fix the problem.
Just a suggestion. Clean the 510 and eGo threading with Kleenex or paper towel. Use a damp rag to clean all tube threads completely. Lightly lube the threads with Vaseline, Noalox or similar. Simple, but has solved a lot of baffling issues with tube mods.
Sounds like you went over the limit of the device. With the RBA's you really got to be careful. And the Chinese arn't known for their quality control. Sorry but I've owned and wasted a lot of money on the chinese mods. Lost most of em within a few months.
Vamo, Smok and Sigelei VV and VV/VW APVs won't fire an atomizer with less than 1.2 ohm resistance. Yes, this is due to the 4 amp limit. Provari is amp limited, too.

Yea I agree but I have and do run a 1.0 ohm RBA on my Provari. I just can't go above 3.1 volts. LOL. That's why I got mechanicals for the LR RBA's.
