Smoke coming out of my Nitecore i2 Intellicharger

Maybe not a good fit for this forum, but what I thought was an important post is buried elsewhere:

My Nitecore i2 Intellicharger almost caught fire just now. Only one side was working this morning, then quite a bit of smoke started coming out of the unit just now and I'm not sure what would have happened if I wasn't sitting next to it. Also stinks like hell. Contacted Orbtronic (where I bought it in April) to see if anything can be done.

Also, am stuck without a charger now.

Sorry to hear about Your charger, but glad You caught it in time before something really bad happened.

This is just one of the reasons to have backups for Your backups.

I hope the vendor will help You out!

I am glad that you and your family are safe.

A good rule of thumb is "never leave batteries charging unattended" and unplug your charger when not in use.

I suppose, never trust a charger, would also be an option

Glad the situation was handled without damage to person or property. Sit down, relax, and have a vape.

No reply from Orbtronic yet. If they don't answer, I'm going to send a note to Nitecore. I don't want anybody getting into a situation where this thing catches fire.
