It doesn't sound like much, but I haven't gone this long without a cigarette since I started. I feel great but I was just wondering is it normal to get sick after quitting? Or does my e cig cause that? My symptoms are a cough, and a runny nose. Anyone get this when they made the switch?

Yeah that's normal and I went through that too. It would come and go and made me wonder if I was allegic to PG but eventuall it all went away after a few weeks. Good job quitting and vape on!!!

Congrats for quitting smoking!! I didn't get sick per se. I did get dried out and still do to a degree. I about 10 8oz. grasses of water instead of 8 that is recommended.

For 36 hours of non-smoking, I would give it a few days. Work on the cold. Your body is going through some changes and just get over that hump.

Let us know your experience. Many would like to know.

Your symptoms are completely normal. The process of vaping is very dehydrating, so you must drink lots of water. I find the water refreshes my taste buds, too. And I tried exhaling thru my nose, to get a bit more nicotine absorption, and had a mild bloody nose next morning.
Stick with it. I'm at 25 days since I lit my last one, said "Ugh!", and snuffed it out. Never imagined this was going to happen for me.

A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette

I am a type 1 diabetic, and one of the most important reasons I gave up smoking is that my endocrinologist made it very clear that continuing smoking would likely result in one of my limbs eventually being amputated. Keep in mind my diabetes is very well in control, I do not have heart disease or any other health problems. One of the many bad effects of smoking is that it reduces circulation, which is bad for anyone over a period of time, but a very serious issue for those with diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney disease, or high blood pressure.

I tried Chantix at first, and got down to 10< cigs a day. Vaping closed the deal; I never touched another cigarette after smoking 2 cartons a week for over 30 years.

Congratulations on your 8 days. You can do it.

Coughing is normal; but your setup could also be a contributing factor; some people are allergic to PG or VG;

Cigarettes have to be lit up and they go out; vaping doesn't necessarily go out unless you got only 1 battery and you have to stop to recharge it, so it's easy to end up chain vaping, and you could end up vaping too much.

I didn't seem to cough too much (in fact after just a few days my terrible smokers cough had improved immensely!). But boy did my nose run. It was like having a cold but without any symptoms except a runny nose! My skin also got a wee bit dry, but I have no idea if that had anything to do with the e liquid since I live in a very dry city! The runny nose stopped after about a week and I didn't mind it too much, just carried pocket packs of Kleenex wherever I went!

The coolest part of the first week of vaping was how quickly my lungs felt better. I could walk up stairs without huffing, and take a deep breath for the first time in a very long time. And it just feels better the longer you go without cigarettes :D
