Smoke signals?

I have a 901 and 3 batteries and I have noticed that, on some of my batteries, including (even after a full 8 hour charge) when I draw on it a couple of times the light stays lit for a few seconds, it sizzles and then the LED flashes about 7-8 times. It then won't work for some 10 seconds or so? Does that mean something? Have I killed it?

this is the self cleaning cycle i think its supposed to happen every 200 puffs or so to burn off the build up on the atomizer but in doing so it usually tastes bad as well, this is the same for most auto batteries and its a pain in the .... also when you take a draw longer than 5 secs it cuts off and you have to wait for it to reset, if you like the 901 your better off getting a screwdriver which has a manual switch, no cleaning cycle or draw cut off and batts will last you 5-8 hrs dependent on usage and last a few months as a whole instead of a few weeks and replacements are about a £1 each.;)

Hi Shadow...I know, I know and oh how I want one.....wahhhhhhhh :(

I just think I have wonky batteries. I have blown through to "kick" the switch but I will try draining them.

Thanks guys.

I strongly suspect that there has been a rash of bad batteries for the 901. Of the 8 those of us who got 901s (including replacements) received, 6 of those were bad and the two that did work (mostly) responded to the slamming them on the desktop fix. Blowing, sucking, cleaning and probing them did nothing to help :-(.

It will get sorted out in time. The other folks who got these gave up on the second set with the same problems and ordered replacements elsewhere that seem to be fine (at least they aren't snarling at me over my recommendation now :).

Don't ya just love riding the leading edge of the wave :)?
