Ok, so right before NYE Madvapes had the chrome telescopes on sale for $35 so I decided to grab one, I needed a cheap out and about PV because I am tired of carrying my GGTB with me. If something happens to my PV at work or what have you, I wanted it to be a cheap device, not my favorite one. So with Madvapes being closed for a few days for New Years it just got here on Friday. Last night as I was driving home I couldn't get it to fire. I assumed it was my Penelope so when I got home I took it apart and checked the negative leg, put it back together and tried again. I got nothing, yet the Penelope is firing just fine on my GGTB now. I also tried it with my kick installed, still nothing.

I saw a couple reviews of people saying their switches have broken but my question is how?!? It's a mech mod with 1 moving part which looks perfectly fine to me. I'm about to contact Madvapes but i'm still wondering what the heck is going on here? It may have been inexpensive but it did still cost me money...

Don't know how your Penelope works or anything...but could it be the connector in the atty got pushed down or something so the contact isn't right? That can happen when switching between different PVs. My black chrome (gunmetal) telescope is still cranking along fine, but sometimes I do have to twitch the atty connection when I'm switching PVs around a lot. Not all the time..but some (I use cartomizers) are fussier than others.

just a thought. The only thing with my telescope is I have noticed a few hair line scratches on the finish. Luckily they only really show in bright sunlight. I've knocked it over a bunch of times, and used the bejeebers out of it...so after 4 months or so, I'm not really upset about it. Great little PV that is always reliable for me!

Do you have a voltage meter? You can check to see if the Telescope is getting any fire that way. Other than that, the few bottom button mods that I have can be a little finicky sometimes and take a little getting used to. A little wiggle of the button while pressing it can sometimes make the difference.

No i'm not going anywhere near it, I forgot to mention it in the OP but even though it won't fire anything, if I try to fire it for a little bit, and then I unscrew it, the button top on my batteries are quite hot to the touch, makes me very nervous. No it's not the Penelope, the center pin threads in or out as much as you want it to and I have it poking out a good ways so it's definitely not that.

Edit: No, for some crazy reason I still don't own a multimeter (as in not a PV with ohms checker but a real multimeter)

Also, what it does, is everytime I unscrew it and put a battery in, it like, half fires for like half a second and then nothing, and this is trying several different devices that all work just fine on other PV's, and i've tried several different batts. It's DEFINITELY the PV.

The Telescope is not completely mech.It does have a wire going to the connector inside the sealed up top cap(which is not removable, unfortunately). That could be where the problem is????Madvapes also has the new Rebuildable Telescope, the top cap is a seperate piece now which i am looking at getting to replace the one i have.

Oh, really? I wasn't aware of that... I saw it and wondered what was with the delrin (or whatever material the insulator in the top cap is made of). I just submitted a help desk ticket with MadVapes so it should be sorted out soon. I had no idea there was electronics in it (kind of defeats the purpose of a "mech" mod, no? That actually seems quite pointless, IMHO...

I don't really care about looks, I just wanted a cheap, dependable pocket friendly I could throw my Penelope on so I wouldn't have to keep using my GG for out and about/work use.

You got cheap....just what you wanted. I would try a ego or 2 that way if they break nobody is upset

Sorry it broke but cheap and dependabe is a rare combo that asia just can't get a grip on

The Silver Bullet is wayyy too huge to be comfortable in my pocket at work although I love it with my kick. I'm actually glad this happened, now I can make it fully mech and also mod something which i've been wanting to do really badly lately! Thank you China for your crappy PV you have bestowed upon me, for now....I mod.
