I don't think anyone was trying to drive you back to smoking but instead to safely vape and get a more appropriate device. A great regulated mod with built in safety features is the Innokin MVP 2. You can get one online for about $40 or probably $65 in a B&M. Throw an Aspire mini nautilus on top and you'll have a great set up.

I would also suggest holding off on the mech mod for now. And agree with above, get yourself an MVP2 and a nautilus mini for your first setup. Read all you can about vv/vw, coils, battery types, ohms law etc... Mech mods are great and im in no way doubting your intelligence about them but I would say its SAFER to start on a vv/vw device and work up to a mech as you gain more knowledge. Theres a lot to learn before venturing in to non regulated devices. Congrats on quitting and keep at it! Its all mental!

I hope you're putting us on about going back to cigs as a result of all the safety warnings you've been given!! Really, with the least amount of safety practiced, something bad happening is rare! The few negative instances just get a lot of press, as always with bad news. Good luck and best wishes for you to quit the smokes. Bad things are almost guaranteed to happen with longterm inhaling of cigarette smoke!! I need the fingers of both hands to count the number of people I know personally who've paid the price over the last decade. :(

Please, please, please don’t give up on the vaping. Yes, we care about your safety but the reason you got all the dire warnings was because many people don’t listen. You listened too well. Thousands of people use mech mods every day without incident. They just have a little learning curve. No one wanted you to go back to smoking. If you don’t have time to read up on what Baditude has posted and linked for you then do buy a simpler ecig for now and go back to the other one when you are ready. Honestly, everybody here is pulling for you—they’re mad as hell at your retailer—and hoping you quit smoking. Most of us had more than a few bumps in the road to get smoke free.

Andru, you had to have a license to ride your bike.....with a helmut. Do you want to have to get a license from the government to vape? The vaping industry is relatively new and a war is going on right now about what entity is going to control it. The FDA and its proposed regulations are about to strangle, wipe out, kill this industry or hand it over to the tobacco companies and back to the cig alikes only form factor because it says it's inherently dangerous to our health, children, and those around us.

Anything we do to cause negative press will only help those forces that are against the vaping industry (FDA, tobacco and pharmaceutical companies, and state governments). Not only are we trying to help you but our newly happy association with this industry and the plentitude of choices we now have. If government gets control, what kind of choices will we be left with in gear and juices when you have the likes of Sen. Jay Rockafeller who says adults don't enjoy flavors and the FDA's stopping point for grandfathering equipment goes back to 2007?

So, yes, we darn well want you safe in your vaping gear! :) Please visit the political section of ECF and read about what our all encompassing nanny government wants to do to the vaping industry. Makes me madder than a wet hen. Just want to go to D.C. and apply some sense with a 2 x 4 in those Halls of Infamy. However, meanwhile I'll just vape on a regulated mod right now and enjoy it while I can. :p

Got me a KangerTech EMOW a couple of days ago. Not sweating this one blowing up in my pocket while I ride. It hits nice and I haven't bought another pack of cigs since. Hope this one meets with everyone's approval.

I haven't read the thread since I posted, but I can image what followed. I hope you understand that no matter how rough the members may have seemed on you, everyone's motivation is your safety and to get you into a position where you understand what you are doing, so that you are in control of it. There's definitely a learning curve, but once you get comfortable, you will know what you like, rather than having someone who may have only been vaping a few months tell you what is best for you.

My apologies, I'd never heard an EMOW before. I would like EMEOW better.
