I just started vaping 2 weeks ago and SI and MBV are the only e-liquid brands I have tried so far. I selected these brands based on the reviews on this site. I am finding that the SI e-liquid is easily producing more vapor (2-3 times more) over the MBV e-liquid using the same hardware.

The batteries I am using are the SI Volt 65mm auto and 78mm manual.
I am using the SI cartomizers, originally from the SI "Smooth Sampler" 5-pack, which I have refilled with the following:

SI Volt "Country/Cowboy" 30ml bottle; 12mg; PG/VG ratio is not listed
MBV "Afternoon Delight" 30ml bottle; 18mg; 80PG / 20VG
MBV "Hazelnut" 30ml bottle; 18mg; 80PG / 20VG
MBV "Lemonade" 30ml bottle; 18mg; 80PG / 20VG

Is it simply a matter of the PG/VG ratio causing the difference in vapor production? Or is there more to it? Will steeping improve the vapor production or is steeping just for taste?

Is it possible to determine the PG/VG ratio of the SI Volt e-liquid just by looking at it? Visually, I can tell that the SI Volt "Country/Cowboy" e-liquid is slightly thicker.

VG is thicker and produces more vapor. I'd be willing to bet that the SI has a higher ratio of VG by your description. You can always ask SI what their ratio is. Also next time you order from MBV get 50/50 or max VG and you'll notice a big difference is vapor production.

I was willing to place the same bet, and it looks like we would have lost based on Grimwald's response that SI liquids are mostly 80/20.

Since I ordered 3 flavors from MBV I should have tried different ratios, but being a new user I accepted the default 80PG/20VG which I assumed was the best ratio.

SI liquids are mostly 80/20...some are 90/10. SI Classic Grape is one of my go to juices. I use a couple of MBV juices as well, but get those at 65/35. Funny, now that you mention it, even at 80/20, the SI juice holds it's own very well when it comes to vapor output.

Thanks for the info, I wonder then what is the difference

You can go here Smokeless Image and ask about the SI ratio. But in general their juices are in the 80/20 to 90/10. SI has a couple forum reps that do a great job of answering questions.

No need for me to ask anymore since I reckon I will get the same 80/20 to 90/10 response. Thanks for the info.
