Vapor Production Question

I'm using a SI Volt KR808 and have a question about the amount of vapor produced. I'm getting A LOT more vapor from the prefilled cartos than I do from some generic blanks (not bought from SI) that I bought a filled myself. Is this due to the e-liquid or the carto? I get about the same from vapor from the prefilled despite different nic levels (I bought both 24mg and 18mg cartos from SI). The e-liquid I'm using is 16mg. Would the lower nic level have anything to do with vapor production? I'm just curious as to if I should order blanks from SI to get better vapor or if I need to reevaluate the e-liquid I'm using? I know that SI's e-liquid is 100% PG. The other e-liquid is "PG based" (according to the website of the vender I purchased it from, but no definitive statement about PG/VG ratio if it is a mixture). Thanks in advance for any info!

vapor production is based on the. amount of VG in the liquid, atomizer/cartomizer, and battery youre using.

the more VG in your liquid, the more vapor is the general rule.

the lower the resistance (in ohms) of your atomizer/cartomizer = the more.voltage from your battery goes into your juice which in turn makes more vapor.

lastly the type of battery youre using..not sure how many.voltages your specific battery puts out, but the higher the voltage, in conjunction with the ohms of your atomizer/carto will determine the amount of wattages going into your juice, which determines the vapor output

in your case i would definitely buy the blanks from SI or Bloog which i hear are great. the coils and resistance im guessing are better and.lower than the ones you got.

nicotine doesnt have effect on vapor as far as i know. some websites dont like to list their pg/vg ratios, but if you were to email them (say you have a health concern with pg or vg), theyll most likely give you a rough estimate.

hope this helps a little

I think you're right on this one mate... I remember reading the newer SI cartos use a horizontal coil and give you better vapor production at lower voltage.

It also depends how much you fill a carto. Prefilled cartos are usually not sopping wet. When you fill a carto it probably ends up wetter than a prefill. Cartos I fill (even with 100% PG) do not produce their best vapor right away. There is a sweet place where it's not overly wet and not getting dry and right there is where the best vapor is.

In my cartos I use juices with 20% VG or less and I won't use juices that leave a lot of flavoring sediment behind (clogs the carto stuffing, reducing wicked and drag) so I mostly use light clear juices.

I heard the new SI cartos are the same as Bloog but I don't know if their stock is a mix of old and new. I have not tried them yet. I mostly use Vapor4Life WOW cartos.

The vapor on the ones I have filled is at its best at the beginning and goes down from there. I've been using the so-called "condom method" of filling. Not only is the vapor production not very good, they don't last long before I need to refill again. They're a bit shorter than Volt cartos. So, I'm sure they don't hold as much juice which would be the reason for not lasting long.

The Volt cartos have a resistance of ~2.8 ohms and the batteries are 220 mAh (I have NO clue what that equals in voltage).
I can't find out what the resistance on the generic blanks are (higher than 2 ohms as their LR cartos are 2 ohms).

Vapor4Life WOW cartos are 2.5 ohm and their Coolcarts are a whopping 3.4 ohms so they are good for the 5v passthrough.

I've also tried L-Rider KR808D 2.5 ohm cartos from Madvapes (they only have white in stock). They are put together a bit messier than Vapor4Life WOW cartos but similar style with a defined central air channel and worked similarly for me.

So, I just realized that the generic blanks have smaller holes in the bottom (where they attach to the battery). Does this have anything to do with the difference in vapor production? This may seem a bit naive, but is that the difference in resistance in cartos? The size of the hole? The bigger the whole the lower the resistance? Or is this just a coincidence? Or am I simply putting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much thought into this?
