Hi I am looking to buy a E-cig but there are so many out there I was hoping someone could recommend one for me.

I have smoked for 5 years and had trouble quiting I smoke around 7 weekdays and 13 weekends.

I am after one that's within £50 price range can vary if recommendation values e-cig more.

I would like a e-cig that has a low running cost through refillable liquid but delivers a good hit.

Thank you for any help

I was right in the same boat you are in just yesterday. And I will help you out by giving you the most informative response possible lol.

First off, as far as brands go... especially as a beginner like myself (I'm currently awaiting delivery of my e-cig which i just ordered yesterday) I would go with apollo. Now, I am not a vet, I am just a very informed noob. Heres why.

Apollo have a history of being somewhat innovative, and they always try and remain at the bleeding edge of e-cigs, and their customer service is just phenomenal. Oh, and they make pretty cool looking stuff and have something for everyone.

Now onto the options. there are basically 4 or five categories;

standard kit, extreme kit(slightly better battery life but lacks all the added extras of the standard)...now these two units maintain the cig form factor that you are already used to. They look like normal cigs albeit in different colors and are cartomizer based models. Meaning they have a wool/mesh thingy in the mouthpiece that if going refillable, you will need to fill up. they are also about 4.2+" long fully assembled. My problem with them though is that anything using cartomizers generally require you to replace said carts after every 6-10 refills. Now these carts aren't all that expensive, about $8 for a pack of five. And a full cart is about the equivalent of a pack of 15-20 sticks of normal cigs. So you can factor in the math and see if it works for you. They are either manual or automatic. Standard cost $69 and extreme a lil less.

Then we have the elips, a somewhat radical take on the e-cig m.o. the same price with the standard kit, oval shaped, manual and also use refillable carts. again the carts!!!! But they are only 4" long though so thats something to consider

then we have the tank based models. And what most here will recommend you getting. Unfortunately these are also the most unwieldy of the bunch at 5.2+" long. however they offer extremely great battery life. there are two main models here. the eGo ce4 and the v-tube. I will be talking primarily about the eGo as the vtube is a little more hardcore and not what I will consider a beginner device.

The eGo uses a refillable tank that from what i gather is really easy and clean to do. I also found out that you will probably have to change the tank part (which consists of a combined tank and atomizer [ignition unit, don't worry, they all have them]) once every month. As the vets will probably tell you, because this unit uses a "510" thread at the point the batter connects to the tank its easy to grow with this device as its easy to using tank units from other manufacturers or custom mods down the road if you need to. Though it lacks the versatility you will get from a vtube which has a volt regulator to improve computability with other add-ons. as I said, thats hardcore......

I will say though, if i were you... go with the apollo eGo. I just ordered the apollo superior eG0 ce4 kit that comes with 2 batteries, two clearomizers(tank+atomizer) and charging accessories. Then side ordered an extra battery(for my gf), four additional clearomizers and a 30ml e-liquid for my refills that all came to $97 after using the happy2013 promotional code that shaves 25% off everything in your cart. So I'm guessing if you aren't getting the extra battery it would cost you even less.

I even got lucky and they agreed to put different colored batteries in my kit as opposed to having two batteries of the same color. Hope this helped.

this is their uk site/.

However I don't see the eGo ce4. they have the vtube though. Maybe you should consider looking at the american site. I am also importing anyways cause I dont live in the states. I also hear the Joye is pretty good.

I know the apollo is kinda more expensive, but the way I see it is that i spend around $1100 on cigs every year as it is (a pack a day smoker) and thats only cause a pack of cigs cost just about $3 where I live. Going with the eGo, buying 1 30ml and 1 claromizer every month I will be spending $276 a year and staying HEALTHY!!! With a first year entry fee of $400 (the kits and yearly expenses).

As they say, these things pay for themselves. So my advice, don't skimp on the funds. the only reason am not buying a special custom made $2-$300 kit is simply cause this is the first time I am doing this.

Both of those kits are really good Jonathan :)

The nice thing about the Riva kit is that it come with 5 cartomisers as well as a vision clearomiser - gives you the chance to see which you prefer. Also if you order from Vape Escape before 3pm, they dispatch same day.

OR

Apollo Superior eGo CE4 Kit

I am more interested in a quality standard over a look a like to a cigarette.

Going to have to think on this one.

Most helpful forum I have ever visited

Thank you for all the help!

Smokers are usually some of the most helpful ppl in the planet, as long as you are asking for something smoking related lol. I think its a don't wanna die alone thing, though in the world of vaping, I guess its a don't wanna watch our fellow smokers friedns die when they don't have to.

I'm happy you found the eGo on the uk site. They both seem like really good choices. If quality is what you want? then well... I guess you know which of those two options you probably will end up getting :)

OK here is my suggestion i am not going to pick apart anyone else's post but this is how i would go about it first if you want to be stealth buy a pcc kit its basically a case that looks like a cigarette case which has 2 cigarette like battery's and the case is the charger (now these use cartomizers and they basically are a sponge that lets the juice slowly fall through to the atomizer to be well atomized and vaped sorry if this part is a little much info but the filler material in these are known to have company chemicals and such that can alter your vape even after you wash it out) Now the case will last all day 12 hours (it should get at least 1000 mah on the case) now the batteries will last about 10 min like a regular cigarette so its stealth and you wont be vaping a lot but i have noticed a lot of people vape more than they smoked because its more enjoyable so this is why the pcc is good but why its not good to only have one. but while you smoke one the other is charging and they take about 30 min for the batteries to charge the case probably a few hours.

Now personally i would go with an ego now they have a large diameter (like a cigar) but you can get them as short as 2 inches long if you buy the mini. The mini can also hold a cleaomizer (a tank with juice that has wicks to deliver the juice to the attomizer and tend to have a better taste depending on where the coil is but don't even worry about that) what i am trying to get at is if you get a mini you can put on a kanger t3 and it will be about 6 in long but it lasts about 6 hours of use with no charging.

Now no matter what you get i suggest the ego t pass through as you can charge it while you vape (in the car at home) and simply unplug it and leave with a battery as large as a 1000mah almost 10 hour charge. Also some of the newer ones are Variable voltage but that's another question.

Now the reason people will suggest ego by joye tech is because they are the big boys and almost everything is made for the ego threading and if not you can get adapters but most things that do not fit the ego are expensive and not for beginners so other than that you you should get imo at least one ego t pass through as a backup or as a main device i use mine frequently. so get 1-2 regular batteries maybe a mini for stealth (i have never seen anyone look at me weird and i have used mine while grocery shopping.) When people even talk to me about it they are either asking what is that or they say ohh yeah i doo too or i tried it and i didn't like it now that last category of people imo tried little batteries with bad tasting pre filled cartos the battery died too fast and they tasted bad so they went right back to analogs.

if you want to ask me questions shoot me a pm maybe we can use skype or something if you want because i am kinda terrible at long posts making sense on my tablet lol.

ohh yeah when i started i didnt buy a kit i got a battery a cleomizer and a charger, also juice (should have purchased two at the getgo but i didnt) and total cost to me was about $40 US so you dont really have to buy a kit they basically throw in a case for free and by case i mean its like a glasses case with some pockets for juice and some bands to hold 2 batteries

hi,

really newb here.. anyways, was wondering if it is possible if i just use plain water for the e-cigs. will it damage the atomizer? or will i die from it?! thanks!

every new carto atty i rinse in distilled water then dry burn it (burn off the water), Why are you asking this question? Also when you get a pure vg juice you can add a little distilled water to thin it out if you need to.

PM me if you want to know more and why you want to use water?
