I was looking at buying an eGo, but I've noticed the smoketech clones are less expensive. I've also found a smoketech clone kit that comes with tanks. This is what it comes with at $59.99

2 - Black 900mAh eGo 510 3.7 batteries
4 - 1.5 ohm stainless dual coil tank cartomizers
1 - 420mAh charger
2 - Silver Cones
2- 3.5 Tanks
2 - Black Delrin Drip Tip
1 - 10ml 3&5 18mg e-liquid
1 - Carrying Case
Ego Dual Coil Cartomizer Tank Kit

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this clone and if it's any good. I've heard some things about compatibility issues between it and other eGo products(chargers especially). Can anyone provide some feedback?

Madvapes is a good, reputable vendor. Liberty-Flights is also a good place for eGo type devices. They have a 20% off link in the top left hand of the screen too.

$60 is a good price for all that you get along with a tank (madvapes). I've not been a fan of dual coils in a tank though. If you get this kit, a great place to get cartos for your tank is crystalclearvaping, they sell the prepunched 1.7ohm smoktech single coil cartos that work great on the eGo battery. These are xxl and will fit nicely in the tank that comes in the madvapes eGo kit. use the code ecf5off for 5% off your order at ccv.

I have a 900mAh Smoketech eGO batt, it's perfectly compatible with all my other VEC and Joyetech eGO stuff, and performs the same as well. I wouldn't be afraid to purchase that kit; it's competitively priced considering the model and accessories included, and it's from a vendor I trust.

There's a lot of eGO systems at less and more expensive prices. If you're just looking for a basic eGO starter kit that will perform well, you can do a heck of a lot better on price. If that particular system is what you want, go for it. There's everything there to get you started, but I'd order a lot more juice to go with it....

Good luck.

This kit looks good to me. It was mainly the quality I wanted to verify. It's good to know te compatibility is not as much of an issue as I thought. I'm not too worried about juice as I make my own I've come to enjoy. Thanks for the good feedback. I'm looking to use the ego for home and work. I think I'll stick with my KR808 slim for when I'm out and about. Any idea on how these do with a KR808 adapter? Not too worried as I'm getting the tanks and I don't mind buying 510 supplies. I just didn't know how they handled KR808 cartos (in case I'm in a pinch).

I would recommend getting the 3pack of 1000mAh Ego T's from Liberty Flights. It was about 55$ with shipping. Then grab a charger off them for 5$ and a few attys/cartos of your choice. You might pay just a little more, but it's genuine Ego, and you get a third battery.

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually am wanting dual cartomizer tanks like with the kit. I was a little unsure about the ego-T. How are the tanks on it? What's the capacity. Since this is for home, I'd like to have a lot of fluid at my disposal at one time.

I only vap with Dual Cartomizers as well. The 3 pack is just the batteries. Then they have Smok Tech Dual Cartomizers that I buy from there as well.

Here's links to what you would need if you go this route:

Charger: Get the Riva one. It's the same as the Ego and will work great with the batteries.
Electronic Cigarette - Chargers - Joye eGo

Smok Tech Dual Coils: I recommend the XXL or the XXXXL ones.
Electronic Cigarette - Cartomizers - Smok Tech Cartomizers

3 Pack of Ego T Batteries:
Electronic Cigarette - Batteries - Joye eGo - T

You're looking at about $70 total after the 20% discount. But it's one heck of a kit.

Thanks for the info but with the tank kit I ordered it come with 4 cartomizers. I ordered an additional 8. I think that should last for a little while in a tank system. I couldn't wait to use an ego so I also picked up a standard joye tech kit from the Indy Vapor Shop. It's the only local retail vape shop in Indianapolis. $59.99 for the kit, picked up some lr xl cartos and some juice samples. These are only 650mah and I'm already stoke with the battery life. I can't wait for my tank kit with the 900mah. Should be here Monday.

I've got 6@ 650mAh and 1@ 900mAh batteries in rotation....I average using 3 650s every 2 days and the 900 will go a day and a half mixing the use of tanks and Boge XL LR and shorty LR 2.0 cartos. Wife goes up to 2-1/2 days each on the 2@ 1100mAh batteries in rotation using XL LR 2.0 DC cartos.

I'm real happy with the performance of each model.

Really sooner or later you are going to want to step into mods and when you do, you are going to need generic batteries and a charger. Liberty Flights has the Ego E-power 3.7V kits for $59.99. With 18650 batteries. It doesn't specify the MAH on the batts but, I can't remember ever seeing an 18650 that was less than 2200. When the time comes, battery replacement will be cheaper too. That's what I'd recommend.

trepalium: "I was just a little unsure about the Ego-T"

You and many others that have used 'em... myself included.

Can you tell me why you didn't like the Ego-T? I'm loving mine; great hit, no drips, super convenient, 1000 mah battery lasts and lasts, seems well-made; but I have no first-hand experience with anything else.

A big part of my reason for asking is that a lot of my friends want to start vaping, and the Ego-T is what I've been recommending, having found zero downside with it. In fact, that's why I came on here for just now, and am about to post that question; "is there something better for a solid, can't-go-far-wrong, get off the stinkies and start vaping than an Ego-T starter kit and some juice"?

It just seems that there are so many ways to go with it; cartomizers, clearomizers, the tank, or whatever else comes down the road that you can use those batteries with.

@MickyRat - My plan is to move into mods after I get used to big batteries. Being a slim only user, I wanted to get more experience before choosing a mod as I wanted to make sure I get something I'll like. But mod is definitely where I'm heading in the end.

I just don't like the deliver system to be honest. I've also have heard a lot more stories of leaking, etc. I'm happy you have found success with the ego-T, I've just heard too many negative things about it. If it works for you, great. As for recommending it to others, if it worked for you, why not?

In the long run the dual coil tank kit smoke tech sells seemed to match what I was looking for. In the end it's really about individual preferences.

Just my luck. They sent me the wrong kit. They sent a standard ego clone (cartridges and atomizers). No Cartmoizers and tanks, and no ejuice. It's weird, because they had an instruction manual inside the kit explaining how to fill the tanks, so I'm unsure what happened. Put a ticket into MadVapes.com. Just super bummed to get the order I was waiting for just to have it be wrong.

A big part of my reason for asking is that a lot of my friends want to start vaping...

Thus far I have 'converted' thirteen aquaintenances to vaping, most with Riva PVs and a couple of eGo MDCCs. With one exception, all are still vaping!

My goal is to provide them with a 'fiddle-free' system that provides a VERY satisfying vaping experience. Only one has asked about upgrading. Most folk just want to get off 'bakky, no hobbie$ for them.
