Smoking ban proposal fails in Mobile (updated)

Well ... what do ya know ... A smoking ban failed to pass
So, they can't slip e-cigs into the mix.

I'm not pro-smoking, however, I am against the Nanny State
telling private businesses that they are not allowed to permit
smoking ... let alone telling them what size of drinks they can sell.

Rights aren't rights if someone can take them away from you

That's cool to know about CASAA getting e-cigs removed from the proposal.

Oh, ya can bet money that the smoking ban will come up again.
It's never going to end

When I read this article the first time ...
I said to myself ... Wow, it appears some in America
still believe in private business property rights.

Later I read the article again
“This is not about smoker’s rights,” he said. “Smoking in public is dangerous to other people ... Private property rights, in my opinion, are essential to our way of life and to our economy. We need to get off private property until we protect public property.”

The way I read this is:
1. Smokers don't have rights
2. Ban smoking everywhere on publicly owned property
THEN
3. Ban smoking smoking on private property.

Off-Topic ... November election
There is something called the point of no return

I agree, I think a private business has the absolute right to determine if smoking should be allowed in there business! If people do not like it, they have the right to go elsewhere. I personally do not like cig smoke, but government is becoming to intrusive! New York has now banned 32 oz drinks of soda! People are crazy!
+1 for Critical Thinking

Being an election year ... We hear a lot about poll results.
The Nanny State is interested in these results ... but for
different reasons. The results of these polls indicate the
percentage of the population with the ability for critical thinking.

The Nanny State hates critical thinking ...
its against their interest.

Pardon the dark-humor
:p
