Smoking battery?!

So one of my VX2 manual batteries has been a bit odd lately. It worked fine and would hold a charge, despite the red light on the charger never turning off(left it on there for 12 hours once, still red). Well today I had been charging it for 4 hours or so, and I went to take it off the charger...while unscrewing it the led started flashing, then I heard a POP and smoke started coming out of the led! I instantly unplugged the charger and got the battery off of it, but it was still kinda scary.

I just tested it and it worked for about one drag. Now nothing. The led is dead(I assume that's what popped) and the bottom of the jewel cap is burned/blackened.

None of my other batteries have any issues with my charger, and this one was only a few weeks old so I'm going to say this was just a faulty battery.

Anyone else have their ecigs blow up on them?

sounds like just a faulty one to me .

ive never had a battery do that in all this time , but it is still a lithium battery and they are known to be eratic sometimes.

Well the same thing happened with another battery I put on the charger, but this time it happened as soon as I screwed the battery in. Faulty charger killed my last two batteries

ahh so it was the charger. that sucks ive never seen a charger do that ever. ive seen chargers die but never smoke a battery
