Proud of my progress, but annoyed with the smoking dreams. You would think that they would end by now but they haven't at four months. For those that are more veteran than I, do you still have dreams of smoking? It's almost like my mind gives in at night to the temptation but wants nothing to do with it during the day.

Oh man, I didn't even think about smoking dreams. I haven't had any, but I was an addict years ago to "other stuff" and after quitting that I had using dreams for years. I always hated those dreams! I would wake up in a cold sweat and feel guilty as hell. I never actually used in the dreams though, I was chasing it all night long though.

I've only had one, but it wasn't a smoking dream as much as a cigarette dream...I was surrounded by every brand, mountains of packs, and all I had to do was take whatever I wanted. It was exciting, and sort of scary at the same time. I didn't smoke in my dream, and I haven't had another since.

On the other hand, I recently had to go 100% gluten free (diagnosed w/anti-gluten antibodies, and that my brain reacts to wheat like it's an opiate--a real addict) and have been completely off gluten for a month (I used to have a burger on a bun once a week or so), and had a bread dream last night. It was a terrible dream. I was thoroughly enjoying that slice of crusty, chewy French bread when I realized with one bite left to go that I wasn't supposed to be eating it...trying to decide whether to have that last bite was torture.

I feel your pain...I'm not exactly a "veteran" when it comes to being quit; I only have 2 months+ in so far. I definitely still do have times where I just think "F it, I'm gonna smoke a cigarette" but thankfully when it comes to smoking I have been all bark and no bite. If I end up giving in I just hope that it tastes like absolute sh-- and I never go back. I think I may just force myself to eventually smoke an analog and hope that it tastes horrible because at that point I can put it all behind me, but until then I will keep having urges. It's natural for most of us...

I had one smoking dream in the past 12 months. I woke up and realised I would have to reset my smoke free banner on ECF, and was so disgusted with myself. Then I woke up a bit more and realised it was just a dream. Yaay! Bonus. Then I marvelled at such an intense emotional reaction to even the concept of me ever smoking again, and was like Yaaay all over again. Vaping For The Win...!

[edit] The abbreviated version of For The Win is auto-censored on ECF? Bizarre

...... that "one" always led me back on the track to smoking full time..Just me.

Me too!, many times... but that was before vaping.

Actually, I've had "just one" several times in the last 14 months, usually on a Sat. night after several cold beverages.... just for kicks y'know. They taste like horse hockey tho, and I never finish one... and hasn't happened in over 6 mos.

Now that vape gear and juice options are plentiful and cheap, I have no fear of smoking "one"... nor anxiety over possibly EVER starting back!
