I have my kit coming and Canada Post shows it should be here tomorrow. I have slowed down on my cigarettes the last few days but today i have been smoking like crazy. I am thinking this is because i have plans on giving them up. Now my body is in panic mode.

How much if any do you smoke a day with vaping? How much is safe to smoke when vaping? Has this happened to any of you where your body wanted more cigarettes as you knew your kit was coming any day?

I went and bought my kit at a b+m store, so I'm not really sure. I've been vaping for three weeks this Thursday, and I've smoked around 2 packs total over the past three weeks, but that's down from a pack a day. The hardest one for me to kick so far is the first one in the morning, but I plan to start combating that tomorrow morning by using 24 mg juice first thing in the morning. Not sure if this was what you were looking for, but I hope it helped!

I smoked more than normal when my first kit was in the mail. But after the kit arrived i found myself smoking fewer and fewer cigarettes. I never intended to completely quit smoking. Now i smoke zero per day simply because i don't need to and i don't want to. You'll be surprised how easy it is, especially when your taste buds return and you can truly taste how bad cigarettes are.

I know what you mean. I smoke about 6-8 in the morning before leaving the house (in an hour). Morning is when i smoke the most. I am hoping the PV helps me not to do that anymore. So i am going to try really hard to win this morning craving thing. Because i quit cold turkey once for 7 1/2 months and i tell you every morning i craved big time. Good to know that we can up our nic for the mornings and lower it for the rest of the day. I really like this.

I eased in to the vaping but it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. The first day that I swapped out my morning cig with a few minutes of vaping, and I was ok with that, it was a triumph. Celebrate those victories. I gradually substituted out cigs for vaping during my morning coffee etc., until I was off the cigs within only a few weeks. I can't vape anything higher than 12mg, so that means I vape a lot during the day. I dial back the nic at night and sometimes the concentration down to 6mg before bed. I am so glad that my clothes don't stink any more, I don't have to cover up the smell, and I am saving so much money. I have to lay down a lot because of my messed up leg and it's awesome that I can just vape in bed without having to go out in the wet and cold. My mom HATED that I smoked but will comment, "Oh, I just love that flavor! What's that smell? Caramel?" Even my father who barely says two words to me commented the other day, "The whole floor smells so good right now!"

Welcome aboard, and there are lots of Canadians on here. I've only recently come back to Canada but I'm lucky in that I am so close to the border I bring everything back with me and don't have to worry about customs.

I think this is definitely the kind of thing where everyone's story will be different - for me, I had the e-cig for a while - I had made an attempt to use it in January, but the higher pg level made me cough a lot, so I stopped. At the end of Feburary I ordered some new juice but it still sat there. One day I was home on a cold Sunday and ran out of cigs - I didn't want to leave the house so I picked up the e-cig until I felt like leaving the house to get another pack. It's been 16+ days, I've left the house plenty of times, but have yet to buy that pack. I never expected to quit on the spot and I never thought I'd enjoy vaping more than smoking (and sadly, I really liked smoking!!)

Although I was a pack and half day lights smoker, I found that 12 mg's of nic is enough for me (my guess is others like me would use 18 mgs). I also cut down to 6 mg's at night - again, it works for me. Everyone is different and you're going to have to experiment a bit. But don't put all that pressure on yourself of quitting or how much to smoke, how much to vape - just try it and see how it goes. It took me a few weeks to get the right set up and then bam, I unexpectedly quit - you just never know. But when you do start, just be aware of how you feel - headache, dizzy, nausea? Cut back on the nicotine. And drink your water!!

Good luck to you!!

Welcome Deeo,

Personally, I wanted to quit cigarettes and had tried unsuccessfully many times. I smoked for over 50 years. From day one vaping, I have never had another cigarette. That was 6 months ago. You need to make up your mind that vaping can replace your cigarettes. They taste much better, do not smell, don't burn holes in clothing, and according to most information I have read extensively are much healthier for you. Be very careful when vaping and smoking. If you start to get a headache, STOP, you are getting too much nicotine.

Ah, the anticipation. Probably what's making you smoke more.

Many folks smoke and vape. There is no definitive combination of what's safe and what's not. If you have to smoke and vape, it's safe to do so. Ideally, you'll transfer completely to vaping in a short time. You might start with a couple different strength levels of juice to find your comfortable medium, which may vary through the day. When you've had enough nicotine from either, your body will tell you.

I tried a drug store device first, but I was still craving cigarettes so I still smoked one or two a day.

After a week or so, I realized I was very sensitive to an ingredient in the ejuice they used (diacetyl pyrazine - known for causing respiratory issues) so I put those down and started doing some research on devices and ejuice and ingredients. Once I'd made up my mind and placed my order, I decided I was going to quit smoking completely. I waited for my kit, checked tracking numbers like a fiend, and smoked as I normally did. I did start chain-smoking the day that my kit went out for delivery. I felt like I had to get my fill before I said goodbye.

I was smoking a cig on my patio when the mail truck came by. Finished smoking it while I unwrapped everything there on the patio, put it out, and never looked back.

As soon as everything was charged up, I was officially a full-time vaper. :)

I sort of eased into. I am a delivery assistant for a convenience store that sales the Blu and other disposables. I smoked a pack a day and got to the point that my lungs hurt and decided in the middle of the route that I needed to stop once and for all. I took the full pack of smokes that I had and put them into my overnight bag and picked up a disposable. I used it the rest of the night and when I got to my hotel, I ripped the cigarettes in half and tossed them. I used the disposable until I got home where I had 2 full packs waiting for me and temptation set in. I smoked a couple, ripped that pack in half and tossed them. Then I found out about the whole other world of e-cigs with the tanks, cartos etc and ordered an Ego-T setup. While I was waiting for it to come in the mail, I found myself having an analog here and there out of my remaining pack but decided it was stupid and if I was going to quit, just quit already. I ran to the store and picked up 3 more disposables. Even though they were way more expensive than actual cigarettes, it was worth it. Ripped the remaining pack up and used the throwaway e-cigs. Once my kit came, I used it exclusively and still had cravings but didn' t give in. It has only been 3 weeks since I got the kit. The other day temptation got the best of me and I bummed one from my buddy, smoked half of it and tossed it. I couldnt believe how bad it tasted and wondered why I ever started in the first place. I love these things. I can use it in my house without stinking up the place, I can use it in the tractor trailer for work and best of all I find myself using it less that how much I smoked. I used to have 4 analogs on my way to work and now I may have 5 or 6 puffs on that same drive.

I got 18 mg. I didn't want to order all kinds of different flavours until i know what nic mg is good for me. But by the sounds of it i may need a few different nic mg one for morning , day and the evenings.

Not necessarily. That works for some people, but I use 18 morning, noon, and night. I feel no need to change it up throughout the day.

I quit cold turkey but my wife still smokes 3-4 regular cigs a day.

It depends no two people are alike in my opinion, my only suggestion would be to not torture yourself and if you "need" that cig just smoke it. You can just gradually cut down until they're gone no one says you have to quit tomorrow.

I am not the type that could just go from smoking 20 cigarettes a day to zero overnight. Like I said earlier, I never intended to stop smoking completely, but I was interested in cutting back. I basically gave myself freedom to smoke. If I tried to deny myself that cigarette, I would immediately get anxious about it and it's all I could think about.

It wasn't until after I gave myself freedom to smoke I could finally relax. I knew I could have a cigarette if I wanted, but knowing that the option was there, I chose to vape instead most of the time. I was down to 1-2 cigarettes a day, and then one day it was cold outside, and I didn't feel like braving the weather so I just skipped it. Next thing you know, I had went an entire day without a cigarette. It was easy. So I figured why not go another day. Next thing you know, it had been a week. Then on day seven I really felt the need to smoke a real cigarette. Can't explain why. So I did. Tasted awful. Nothing like I had remembered. So I went another week without a cigarette. Then the urge came back and I sort of forgot about that awful taste. So I smoked another one. This cycle went on for 4 weeks. One cigarette a week. None of them were pleasurable. Now I'm going on 3 weeks without a single cigarette and I honestly have no desire for one. I never thought I'd say that. I still have an unopened pack in my truck that I bought at the beginning of January. It's just sitting there going stale.

Like the above poster said. Cut down at your own pace. Nobody says you have to quit tomorrow. It doesn't have to be all or nothing.
