Smoking Out tobacco: The Rise of the E-Cig
Smoking out tobacco: The rise of the e-cig - Yahoo! News UK

Another generally positive news article (although it mentions WHO's "no evidence" claim and the ERS opposition to e-cigs).

The last two paragraphs of the article (below) make Bertrand Dautzenberg appear like an idiot.

"As a doctor, I cannot recommend the electronic cigarette," lung specialist Bertrand Dautzenberg told AFP recently at the Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in Paris.

"But I would not interfere with a smoker who wants to take it up. With a cigarette, there is a 50 percent chance of killing oneself. With the electronic cigarette, we aren't too sure yet, but it is probably less," he said.

From the article.....But there are concerns that these battery-driven alternatives, officially called electronic nicotine delivery systems (ENDS), may pose health hazards we are not even aware of yet -- just like cigarettes before their ill-effects became clear.
We are no longer in 1960. Our scientific and medical advances werent what they are today. I understand that "one can never bee 100% certain until the product has been on the market for that extended amount of time" theory. What we do know is that cigarettes do kill, Chantix and countless other drugs can lead you to suicide, but thats ok?? Those concerns are tolerable? Time for people to get real!!

From the article.....A recent study among 3,400 high school pupils in France showed that 12 percent of 15-to-16-year-olds who claimed never to have smoked before had experimented with ENDS, and 19 percent of 17-year-olds. Maybe?? I know when I was 14 and smoking, I didnt admit it to anyone. I probably wouldnt have admit it even if it was in a confidence. I know this article was positive for the most part, I cant help myself.

That seemed ridiculous. How are that many kids trying ENDS when ecigs aren't that popular with the parents yet? I decided to ignore that in my comment.
