Smoktech 18650 2800mah

I got a pair of these batteries with my bolt a few months ago. They haven't caused me any problems. I am curious as to whether or not they are protected. There are no markings other than smok 18650 2800mah. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. Thanks

Kinda hard to tell, and the wrapping seems rather thick.

I'd say not protected.

The protection PCB is attached to the bottom, you can usually see it rather clearly.

The case on an unprotected battery is usually ~65mm long, the PCB adds another 2-3mm.

They are in fact protected. According to Tropical Vapors anyway.

It's just a standard sized unprotected (Tropical lists them @ 65.3mm, a dead give away) 18650. Should fit.

Here's a quick size comparison of cells.

You'll note the 4 unprotected cells in this round up @ ~65mm, the protected cells are all the others, those may not fit too well.
