I've been trying to decide on one of these but can't make up my mind. Word is that the Bolt's switch is not so great and a lot of them have failed within a few months. The Joye mod's switch doesn't exactly have the best reputation either with many failure reports coming in on those. It's my understanding that the heads have been upgraded though and maybe they are more reliable. Any one with experience please comment.

Wish I could help you out Drew, I've only had my Bolt a couple of weeks. I'm very happy with it, but I obviously can't speak on the devices longevity. Hope someone comes along to help you out.
I can only tell you about the Joye. The only issue I have ever had is the threads getting a little gunky. Besides that, mine has worked reliably for two months. Not the most aesthetically pleasing mod but it does the trick. Being able to charge it with an EGO charger is a bonus. And if it ever fails, buy a new switch unit for $12.50.
I've been using my Bolt for a few months, Switch has been fine. Their is a new plastic Bolt out check out madvapes they have them for like $20 dollars.
The E GO 18650 mod by joyetech has been a solid mod, if you can call it a mod. The threads from the tube to the switch head are junk, they are rough and have a tendency to cross thread. The Bolt has many different versions to look at. The plastic or blow molded poly models should not be considered just for the obvious reasons. The bolt chrome version is very nice, the button on this all chrome model is metal and seems to hold up very well. You could get a chrome extension and kick up an 18500 battery or just go with the 18650 for a good solid all day or two vape. The biggest advantage I have found with the joyetech 18650 mod is the ability to charge the unit with the standard ego charger. Hope this helps you out. Just an fyi you may want to check out the ego twist 1000 mah also a very good choice. mikeandcarolusa.com just got two more 1000mah twist for $23.00 each

I have both.. personally i would go for the bolt if you use attys or tanks.. but if you use something with ego style threading than go for the 18650.... They are both very solid. I would say just go ahead and get both and see how you like them
