Why would you feel the need to call SJ at home? That's a little invasive imo. I mean shoot it's a free giveaway. They will send out the stuff on their own time. I mean it is at their expense, so who cares when it shows?

It's one thing to want some clarification, it's another thing to harass ECF people who have little to nothing to do with the actual delivery of the product.

Oh yah, I know it. It's just a bummer some times. I know it will work out in the end. I just hate having to fill out endless supplies of job apps. I already spent hella time on my resume and cover letter and you want me to fill out an endless job app and maintenance essay? Just so you won't call me to tell me if I got the job or not? Awesome.

I literally have filled out about 100 applications. Only a few emails to say I wasn't selected.

And of course the one job that said I was hired just to call me back the next day to say they canceled the position... That was awesome... Lol



But I still do my best, keep looking and try to stay occupied! Idle hands and whatnot lol

Will keep goo thoughts for you and hope for the best, I know it can be devastating to be unemployed.

Idk, a few years back the wife and I went there for some corn and it was horrible. Like, Safeway has better corn.
Idk if it was late in the season or if they just had a bad crop... We haven't been back since then. Maybe we should try again next year.

Oh tell me about it. Some of these are straight up essay questions.

Like "this job may require you to use common hand tools, please list the tools you have experience with and situations where you used them"

Like ... really? Ives used SOO many tools in my day, you really want me to list them? For reals?

And then I write a long list of tools and situations and you don't even have the common curtesy to email me saying I didn't get the job? Thanks bro.

I had one job I applied for (FAA maintenance) where they asked 5 questions. It took me all day, literally 8 hours, to fill it out. They asked about hand tools, power tools, powered equipment, safety, and productivity.

Everything they asked? All on my resume pretty much... But noooooo they wanted it in a essay form. 5000 words or more.

At least they had the decency to email me that "I was not referred"

I remember back when I was a teen that you had to actually go into the place of business to get a application and talk to the manager.

Now a days they look at you like your crazy and say "you need to go online for that" and they won't even take your resume!

It's kinda insane.


Don't even get me started about California unemployment! The money that is rightfully mine, that they take out of my paycheck, for me, when I'm unemployed, yet they find any and all reason not to give it to you.

I have been denied for so many little things it's not funny! I just gave up. It would take literally 3 months of apeals and verifications to even get the ball rolling. And that's after I had. Already applied. Then they want you to send them all of this in the mail (on my dime) so it can take even longer to get all situated.

All to get my money

Oh and good luck trying to talk to them. They are only open Monday through Friday, 8am to 12pm with phone lines so busy, that they just say "we are too busy, goodby" and hang up on you...


Oh well, what can you do but try and laugh it off... Or move...

They say unemployment in CA is like only 6.2 percent.... But what they don't tell you is that's just the number of people who are unemployed and collecting unemployment! All the poor souls like me who can't get it or have run out, are not part of this figure.

So in reality, unemployment is probably double that figure.

Anywho, chin up and one foot forward. That's all you can do in times like these.

I'm more upset in the fact that I have always kept a job in Alaska, alway had a job. I move down here, for a family business, and get unemployed.
