Hi everyone! I've been hearing such great things about the Smoktech Magneto that I'm thinking of ordering one. I just had one quick question. I've read that it's kickable with flat top batteries. I prefer to use aw imr batteries, which of course are button top. My question is, can you use the kick in the Magneto with aw imr batteries?

This could be just my experience but I haven't had good luck with my kick2 and magneto. At the moment, I don't have any other kickable mod . . but the kick2 fits in my magneto fine with 18490 or 18350 AW IMR's . .but doesn't work very well. It cuts out every few seconds. It fires for a few seconds, cuts out for a few seconds . .and then sometimes cuts back on or sometimes I have to press the fire button again.

Oh, don't like the sounds of that. Thanks for letting me know.

Sounds like a Kick 2 problem - easy to test too - pull out the K2 and try the Magneto in mechanical mode. If it fires fine then you have isolated the problem.

OH yeah - magneto fires just fine in mech mode. The magneto, or at least mine, has pretty big voltage drop . .like .5 volts under load. Not really sure if it's related to the kick2 issues . .ie . .maybe there's poor connection somewhere.
