I just picked up my magneto and upon taking it apart I noticed it has a brass contact/firing pin. I was wondering whether anyone knows if these can be plated(with silver) or where silver or silver-plated replacements can be found. The volt drop is already low(.12-.15) just trying to hit the floor.

Thats an unreal drop man! Mine doesn't drop that low at all.

I've never had that issue with either of mine.

Make sure everything is tight. The firing pin, head, and tubes snug.

I agree your drop is kinda high. You measuring at cap with firing button pressed? Also on a full battery? Check everything is making a good connection. Also try and scuff the pin and screw for better contact. I will check mine once my bad knee heals up in a couple days.

i have scuffed the contacts but was just wondering about silver ones since silver is naturally more conductive which would reduce the drop even more.

Just a quick question to all Magneto owners. A few days ago when I was cleaning my Magneto, I lost the bottom magnet. Any clue on where I can get another. I would rather not buy a new bottom cap for $25.00 just to get a magnet. Any suggestions would be welcome.

radio shack might have the same size magnet. Measure the size of the spot it filled and google is your best friend As long as the magnet fits into the slot it will work. Magnets tend not to de-magnetize so even if its a different metal magnet, as long as you oppose the poles on the magnets and its the same size, you're ok

No go at Radio Shack. Will probably have to go with the entire switch unit. I wouldn't do that if I didn't love this mod so much.
