As far as I'm concerned the kayfun Lite second edition and a full size Provari is the way to go. IMO. I don't like the idea of the Chinese copying something just because they can and I will stick to the real thing. I know the Chinese can build almost the same thing and since they pay their employees 14 cents an hour and they have to put 1000 together each a day, they can sell them cheaper but you get what you pay for. I'm sure this will tick a few off but I don't care. They work for me

I'm just trying to figure out what on earth this has to do with the SmokTech RSBT...

I'd say this is more like the fogger then the kayfun. People see the chimney top and think kayfun instantly. But the well of the deck screams fogger.

Yeah? I've heard that the Fogger is very finicky, so maybe that explains why the RSBT is. Guess I'm just spoiled by how easy the kayfun is. :D

Says the guy with a DNA CLONE in his signature. This isn't a clone. It's a similar style to a Kayfun. If nobody was allowed to do this there wouldn't be any innovation in the ecig world and your Kayfun wouldn't exist because it's a ripoff of a Protank.

These people barking against clones really piss me off anyway. They just ASSUME that everyone has an unlimited budget like theirs! Clones are for people who have tight budgets and bills to pay, who'd also like to keep eating! And I have a *real* Sigelei, so there! It's a Zmax v3, only goes to 15w, and that's just fine! At least my Sigelei DOES watts, unlike some really ungodly (unreasonably -- no battery tube is worth $200, and especially if it won't even do watts!) expensive mods I could name. Some folks may have Cadillac budgets, but mine is firmly in Chevy territory.

And back to topic: -> I think the RSBT is a really good vape, wicked with cotton; it's not well suited for rayon, IMO, but with cotton, provides excellent flavor and TH. It's not nearly as easy to build for as a Kayfun (ANY kayfun, like my Tobeco CLONES, which are OUTSTANDING), so if someone is looking for easy, someone new to building coils for instance, a Kayfun is a better bet. But if someone wants a good rebuildable that can handle tank-crackers, the RSBT is a better choice than the quartz kit for the kayfun, because of the filling/draining issues.

Andria

EDIT: I forgot to add, the RSBT *is* a good bit airier than a Kayfun; I only need 2 holes open, or even 1 -- someone looking for good lung-hit potential from a tank, the RSBT is definitely it!

Not really to start being off topic again, but you have great points and I have one important thing to add to it. Clones are great for budget, but its the false claims of people trying to pass them as authentic or putting the real company's logo on it. Example, the DNA where it still says evolv but its a clone... That is so horrible mainly because of the electronics, you think you're getting everything as awesome as an evolv DNA is, but they're just garbage. And Brandon and John at evolv have done so much work to make the DNA an amazing board (check out pbusardo's YouTube videos touring evolv). It sucks even more for them when the clone gets passed as real and it fails, that affects their reputation.
Therefore with this mentality all of my battery devices are authentic (2 ProVari minis, innokin cool fire II, vapor shark rDNA, vision spinner II). I will never compromise on electronics.

Now tanks on the other hand, I'm perfectly OK with a clone, provided once again not using original company's logo and there are some changes to avoid infringement. The rsbt is my only authentic tank, all others and drippers are clones. The only ones I have that have the company's logo on it are my kayfuns... Never found ones without the logo. But anyways, the clones serve their purpose because IMO a tank over 60 bux... I can't afford that, it's not practical FOR ME. If I could afford real, I would but them.

Actually I agree; when the clone is presented as being authentic, that's definitely unethical, and potentially damaging to the rep of the original -- I have a "kayfun" clone which was listed as a "russian 91%" and it's nothing of the sort, and I knew that going in, as it was only about $24. It's also a piece of crap; almost no airflow at all, and I don't use it, nevermind that it has that "Created in Germany" on the bottom -- it's Chinese thru and thru, but that's not why it sucks; it's just not well-made. The other 2 however, were not marketed as authentic, it said "Tobeco" right up front, but those 2 are excellent in every way, with that "2mm custom airflow" -- they completely rock, but cost just $32.95, not a hundred or whatever a real Kayfun goes for.

And certainly the same applies to electronics, maybe even moreso. I do have to make do with a Chevy budget, and the Sigelei Zmax v3 fit that perfectly, and it's an excellent piece of hardware -- for $39.95. It has an authentic Zmax board in it, goes to 15w, and suits my needs perfectly.

If you can only afford Chevys, then certainly, you ought to look for the Chevy label. Something with a Cadillac label at a Chevy price? Bad business; bad for the consumer, and bad for those making real Cadillacs.

But I don't think it's Smoktech making claims that their RSBT is "better than a Kayfun" -- SmokTech has a great rep on their own, and don't need to make silly claims like that; their products stand on their own merits.

Speaking of clones... my *clone* Launcher 2 arrived today and - coupled with my RSBT (see, staying on topic!) is awesome! I'd ordered some rayon which also arrived today, but I chickened out and rebuilt my coil/ wick using cotton (I had my own coil with a silica wick, but as I tried to remove the wick I managed to snap the wire. The silica wick had been wotking ok, but due to occasional dry hits I'd stuffed the base with cotton - that worked ok, but I found that I was wasting a lot of juice which was wicking into the cotton but not really accessible for vaping). Anyway, 7 turns of 28 gauge kanthal around two 1.5mm drill bits gave me an oval coil of 1.5 ohms; I've got used to building this type of coil as a single coil solution for my "dual coil" Evod's so can do it quite quickly. On my Evod's I usually wick with a loop of 2mm silica, pulled through with a needle threader (makes it easy to rewick too) but decided to wick using cotton and no cotton wool in the base. (BTW I replaced the thumbscrews with M1.6 x 4mm Philips/Cross-head screws - much better IMO). I fitted a kick, set to 8 watts, into the Launcher 2, filled the RSBT with my favourite juice of the moment (autobiogphnation in an earlier post got it right - I also now use a needle-tip bottle for filling as I've had the RSBT flood from the airholes while filling, due to pressure build up) and WooHoo! Plenty of flavour and lots of vapour - great! :)

Yeah it really does provide excellent flavor, using cotton. I did try the rayon, but rayon compresses so much, after a little while it just leaked like mad. So far none of that with cotton.

You must have the kind of kick I'm expecting in the mail; I just ordered a Fallen Angel from LitecigUSA, along with a Smoktech variable wattage kick. Was hoping it would be here today, as the tracking page says it OUGHT to have been, but no luck. Maybe tomorrow.

A few posts back I mentioned how I'm using the cotton, but without filling the entire well. Give that a try so that it is not as wasteful. Basically just long cotton quick and rich trails to quick to catch excess liquid that makes it to the well.

Rewicked for the third time tonight with sterile cotton. I used just enough to go through the coil and straight to the slots. I cut the cotton at angles, holding the scissors at 45 degree angles with the point toward the center of the tank. I tucked the cotton down in with just a tiny bit of loose fluffy cotton sticking out the holes. After half a tank it seems to be working well so far with no flooding or dry hits. I'm getting better at it. With the last wick just barely sitting inside the holes I had a little bit of liquid down in the well but not enough to flood the air hole.

So far I am loving this authentic tank. The build deck and chimney may be reminiscent of a Fogger V2, Taifun GT or Kayfun but the rest of it is all unique and original. Loving it just as much as my Kayfuns! Flavor and airflow is excellent!

It must be putting out amazing vapor, because I find that running it at anything over 8w makes me cough, it hits that spot that kinda triggers my asthma; not as bad as the dripper does, but it's a similar feeling. This is with 2 airholes open, which is just *slightly* more airy than I generally prefer the Kayfun, but I can get used to it. The flavor is also very good.

Need to get some better drip tips; I see that DesertVapes has wide-bore tips that resemble the one that came with the RSBT, with the stainless base, but the bore is wider, and they also have one of those that's angle-cut, which I'd very much like to try. I didn't think that I would like the wider bore tips, but I find that the really narrow ones I've gone for, up to now, get very watery inside and have to be swabbed out every so often. Not a huge deal but kind of a pain.

My Fallen Angel should be here tomorrow, and hopefully that gun-metal Vamo not too long from now, so I'll have a mod for all my tanks I have in current use. Yikes. Odd how those lil eRolls turned into all this. :D

Yep! I got mine last night after work, opened the box and put it on my Caravella clone to see how it fits, HUGE GAP, adjust the connector all the way in, not enough. A SS 4nine clone should be here monday!

I just checked the tracking page, and my Fallen Angel is Out for Delivery.:rickroll:

Whooo now get that RSBT working and vape away Andria :toast:

I'm waiting for a better drip tip for it actually. Ordered one tonight from sweet-vapes (one of those wide-bore "muffler" slanted pyrex tips, that have the same sort of stainless bottom as the one that came with the RSBT, so it should look excellent), along with a 510/eGo adapter, so I can use some of my ego tanks on my Fallen Angel. Also I'm going to be getting some AW batteries for it, before I use it a whole lot. The eFests are probably fine, I use them in my Sigelei, but I'd like that little extra edge of safety, with a mech. I got a kick too, the SmokTech VW. It all works great, and I spent about an hour putting Noalox on every bit of threading -- a lot of that in a telescopic with a removable center tube! Got that done while listening to Busardo blather on about signals and graphs and all that junk about the Kick 2. I also watched a Robert Ellis video about using the kick; that man is a hoot and a half. He reminds me of my dad, R.I.P., with that short white beard.

Yeah The RSBT has a pretty tall 510. I've got the pin screwed in as far as it will go and there is still a big gap on my Sig Zmax V3. I'm waiting on a second GP Paps clone to arrive in the next few days for my RSBT. I love my Kayfun on it to much to switch...
