The Smoketechs have always been really hit or miss for me. I vape on a ProVari as does my wife, however we both stated on LavaTubes using dual coil cartomizers from smoketech. When I switched for 50/50 to 70/30 VG that’s when they started failing a lot more. I then switched to boges, there is a shop here in town that sells them pre-drilled, They did function much better but still fail after about a week. I am a pretty heavy vapor and so is my wife so this was getting expensive so I found, SureVapes, they sell them in a 5-5 packs for dirt cheap, I bought a punch for like, BALLS ON THE DOLLOR and started punching them myself. In the midst of all this going on they did release the new ViVi Nova, no more burnt taste or juice in my mouth. So my wife uses those and we have back-up cartos in tanks. I however just use the rebuildable geniuses style attys now. They work awesome for me but I am a tinker-er. So back to you question

Smoketech
Pros: Have flare at the end to lock tank in place, great flavor, can be purchased in many different configurations.
Cons: Seem to have to replace them a lot more for VG based liquid
Boges
Pros: Great flavor, Last a long time, tons of vapor
Cons: Have to be punched, only made in low and high resistance.

I used to use smoktech DC cartos, but about a month ago i switched to the boge f16 cartos in a single coil. They works so much better, i wont use the smoktechs anymore. They are already prepunched and if you have a smoktech tank you can use them on that. The flavor is way better, and I have'nt had a bad one as of yet, and i'm on my 3rd package.

The boge f16 looks to be the same as the smoktech xl is has the bottom flange, and is prepunched So I think you can use them in them in the locking tank am I correct in this assumption?

I bought both Smoktek SC and DC cartos for my IBTanked 19mm tank, and after switching back and forth, I've personally found the SC cartos to be better in vapor and flavor production. The dual coils just don't put out as much from my experience.

That being said, I've been wondering about the Boge cartos. I've had my Smoktek carto flood a couple times, and thankfully I've been able to clear it and return to vaping quick enough. I'm thinking of getting a few of the Boge cartos just to try them out and see what happens. I found a 5-pack at SureVape.com - I'll give it a check.

Speaking strictly from personal experience, there is a difference in the filler densities used between Boge and Smoktech.

Boge's filler is typically more dense or compacted. I can say that because of this they are slower to fill with juice, and may possibly not wick certain thick juices such as high vg. However, they are less likely to flood.

The Smoktechs are the opposite end of the spectrum. Less compacted filler allows them to absorb liquid faster and to wick thicker juices better. But they are more likely to flood.

So, based on the above, I would choose between vendor carto's from previous experience. If you've had flooding issues, try the Boges. If you've had wicking issues with Boges, try the Smoktechs.

I prefer the Boge F16s over the Smoktechs mainly for reliability and longer life span. I'm on my 4th box of F16s from Surevapes and have yet to hit a dud. Of the 2 boxes of Smoktechs, 2 were DOA, and another 2 only lasted a few ml's before quitting.

Can't say that I noticed a taste difference between the two. I was initially concerned about the very small pre-punched holes in the F16s and thought I'd have to enlarge them, but no problems at all with wicking at up to 50/50 PG/VG. I have not, however, tried them with 100% PG.

I use the F16s in the F16 Boge tank (which, for $6 and change, is a decent little tank) and a few tanks from Valley View. Work great, and love having the flange to keep the carto in place.

Smoktech XL is their 45 mm 510 carto. These are available in single or dual coil, not punched or 1, 2, and 3 hole punched for carto tanks flanged or non-flanged. Smoktech XL carto fluid capacity is 1.8 ml. You can use the non-flanged cartos with carto tanks but the flanged models can be locked into carto tanks like the excellent Smoktech UDCT.

I have used Smoktech single coil LR XLs for a year and half with both PG juice and currently a very high 95% percent VG juice. These cartos have excellent QC. I've never had a DOA Smoktech carto.

Excellent variety and service from Hoosier e-cig Supply, including the 1.7 ohm single coil LR XL.

Smok's dct tanks are TERRIBLE, I bought one from provape when I got my first provari and it turned me off to tanks completely. I'd never recommend those especially now when there's so many better choices. The only people I've met who had something good to say about them were sellers. Do you have Smoktech t-shirts too?

Op: check Baditudes blog and if you're going to use carto's in tanks get anything except that garbage.

Not the best luck or taste with either of them but if I had to pick one I guess the smoktech. The F16 cartos are wildly inaccurate ohm wise, I've had them come out of the box ranging from 1.7ohm to 2.5ohm. They also only have filler about 2/3 the way up the Carto which is kind of weird.
