I just got a second RSST for a backup today (from the same vendor) and it looks as if they may have changed the tank. Don't know what the new material is, but it's now a milky white color instead of the frosted.

I was using a known tank-cracker DIY combo in the original one (spearmint/green tea/green apple), but I'm not sure this one isn't a tank-cracker so I'll just stick with safe juices in it.

The ming drip tip is now more brushed than the original (I intentionally scuffed up the cap on my original because I slipped when trying to enlarge my air hole).

So, pulse method on a Zmax = no good?

I assume that the unoxidized wick causes a resistance closer to 0?

Looking to order a RSST this coming week and trying to see if I need to get a torch while I am at it.

Also, from what I read here, I should order some 400 mesh and some 30 gauge kanthal to get to about 1.8? Anyone experience anything better on a sigelei Zmax v3?

You will still get shorts from the positive end of the wire through the wick to the negative end of the wire.

what kind of ss mesh are you using with 70pg 30vg liquid? i can't decide whether to do 325 or 400? need to know what works best so i can order. Thanks for your help

I use either 400 or 500 mesh with 70/30. I find little difference between the two. I've never bothered with 325.

i purchased an rsst about 2 weeks ago and mine looks frosted when there is no juice in it, but when there is juice in it, it looks more clear. so the one you purchased first doesnt look frosted without juice in it?

Correct. The second one is a milky white and looks that way when filled.

The fist one is more frosted. Unfilled, it almost like there are etched lines top to bottom through the tank but it looks fairly clear when filled. I haven't had any difficulty with the spearmint (known to crack tanks) blend that I'm currently running in it. The second one, however, is an overall milky color unfilled and I have no idea what the material is, but I'm I have trepidations about putting the same known tank cracker juices in it.

does the rsst use a standard 510 drip tip?

i traded a couple iclear 30's for a rsst and no drip tip with it. i wanted to make sure that the drip tip i ordered was going to work. thanks for the quick response

It does use a "standard" drip tip, but I found that very few of my 20+ drip tips fit well. A standard "barrel" drip tip (the type I prefer) doesn't fit, nor does a standard "straight" stainless tip (another I prefer). I modded one of my barrels to fit it by wrapping a bit of PTFE plumber's tape under the o-ring, but it's not a perfect fit. Works well enough but sometimes ends up crooked on the RSST. The hole should have been a tiny bit smaller to accept most 510 drip tips on mine.

Definite leakage...both at the center pin and top of tank. Not sure how juice is getting around the bottom...won't know till I disassemble. I'm assuming it's around the center tube. Lack of sealing at the top of the tank I'm guessing.
Some yards will sell off the roll by linear foot ---> EPDM Rubber. Some O-rings are manufactured from it.

With scissors, cut out washers for center post as well as gasket for top of PP tank and plate.

EPDM is very heat resistant, and not attacked by anything in e-liquids.

I got a used RSST off the classifieds and had to change the spring and the washer as the stock ones rusted after giving it a good wash when it came in and while waiting for my fish wicks to come in. Apparently these parts weren't SS in the initial run.

PS, 1/8" fish wicks will fit in the hole with the insulator in place, but they fit too snuggly to wick properly.

I'm still trying different things with it and really like some of the designs aspects of it.

i just got my rsst in from the trade i made a few days ago. i wrapped a coil measuring in at 1.6 ohms and put in on my itaste svd. running it around 3.7 volts. After a couple vapes i get a really burnt taste. any advise on what i'm doing wrong. this is my first rba and very first coil i have ever made. not sure what gauge the wire is it came with the trade. The ss mesh was pre oxidized and pre rolled so i didn't put a torch to it.
