I got a couple of sheets (4"x6", I think) of 400 ss mesh with mine and I already had some 30 gauge kanthal. Just got my RSST yesterday and haven't built it yet (actually having a conversation with the shop I bought it from as it was advertised to come with spare parts and there were none in the box).

Oh, and juice :2cool:

But you likely have some of that. It seems to me that some sort of needle or needle tip would make it easier to fill as well, but that's probably personal preference more than anything.

I'd suggest you look at a microcoil and cotton wick.

13 tight (touching) wraps of 28 gauge kanthal around a 1/16th in drill bit with a small piece of organic cotton ball rolled between your fingers and inserted through the coil. It sounds difficult, but it is not and you won't get hot spots, shorts, or hot legs - all problems with the 'traditional' mesh technique. Plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how.

So now I consider my RSST fully tuned to my likes:

1.5ohm micro using 26g nichrome, 400 SS wick, and tiny bits of cotton to prevent excess juice from being all over the deck. Lights up fast on Magneto and eGo, makes enough vapor for my likes, tastes just fine. And if I want to tinker more, I got 10' of the 26g and 20' of 28g to play with.

I have to say I don't really understand the hating on mesh these days. Are people just not patient enough to get it working correctly? By far the best flavor, throat hit, and vapor production from my RSST. If I didn't want to use mesh I wouldn't use genesis atomizers. 400 and 500 mesh both work great. Wick far better in a genny than cotton or silica. I have mine built with a 4/3 wrap of 26 gauge kanthal. Comes out to .5 ohms. Vapes amazingly

Right? There's not much to do anyway- torch it nicely once, roll, stick in the tank and trim, and then literally slide a coil onto it. No need to even do those fancy contact wraps or anything do get it working real well.

Got my RSST coiled and firing tonight with 400 mesh, 5/4 wrap of 30 gauge and some liberal torching (watched a RiP Trippers video on fixing Genesis coils on VV mods that worked perfectly the first time)

Currently vaping some DesertVapes Walker juice (blood orange, hope it doesn't blow the tank...) at 10 watts on my MVP2 that is delicious.

First try with wrapping anything like the RSST (after watching many, many videos on it) and it is working wonderfully. Definitely a good one to learn on. I'm already wanting more.
