I am getting my first vape setup. I posted another similar thread a few days ago and got some great advice.
I have norrowed down what I want between 2 VV models and cant make up my mind. I want something that in the future purposes possible ease of modification. Also I dont smoke cigarettes, I smoke hookah daily so want a more Hookah-Like setup. once I can take with me on the road and blow nice hookah like clouds, and get good flavor from 0% Nico juices.

I plan on getting a Kanger Evod and Iclear 30s tank. What I cant decide is what ecig to get

eGo V V3 Mega - Found Here
or
SmokTech SID - Found Here

SmokTech is slightly more expensive, and have to buy batteries seperate, but they are larger than the eGo V.
So in my situation, trying to imitate Hookah experiences in both clouds, flavor and future possibility of modding, what is better for me?

Thanks everyone for their input

I have the eGo-V V2 Mega, the V3 is basically the same but it has variable wattage along with variable voltage. I've had it for maybe 3-4 months and the firing button has developed a loose connection, I have to press it with a fair amount of force to fire it now. I also have a bit of discolouration at the top of the battery/around the firing button, I'm not sure about how the build/finish quality of the V3 is, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same. I plan on getting a SID in a week or so and I've seen plenty of positive reviews, the only bad/annoying thing I've seen with the SID is the threads seem to make some sort of grinding sound due to the sand blasted finish on them.
With the eGo, the only thing you need is the battery, usb charger and a tank/atty/carto, whereas with the SID, you will need the body, an 18650/2x 18350 batteries, a charger that can fit the battery you bought, and a tank/atty/carto, as the SID is an APV/Mod, so it all depends on how much you're willing to spend to get a better vaping experience. :)

I had debated over those two.... ended up going with the cheaper ego-v v3 after using it for about ten days the damn thing shorted out or something and now it wont work at all. Im within the return policy or so the site I bought it off states but in thd past 6 days ive called twice and emailed twice and have had no response.... dont know what im more disapointed in the store or the ego-v v3 but wishing I got the sid right now....

I have had my ego v v3 for a couple of weeks - so far so good. I have resisted the urge to purchase devices that require external batteries so I am impartial to the ego v v3. The button does have a slight sticking issue so I try not to be so rough on it. I definitely recommend it for the internal battery and USB passthrough options. I purchased both of mine from aquavaporcigs.com.

For the long run i'd go with external batteries if you can afford it. Batteries lose their longevity after a while, with external batteries you can replace them when it happens. You could also use the batteries in another device if you end up thinking about that (bet you will). I don't have either device and I think they will both work well, still SID would be my choice.

I have used and run down my SID. IMO, its a pretty good unit. Ive dropped it several time and nothing happenes to it. The only problem I had is the circuit board slides in deeper in the module and looses the battery contact. You'll have to pull it out ince in awhile. Solution: just dab a little super glue on the groove wher the circuit board is mounted.

I have 4 ego vv3's and 2 SIDS in rotation. There are plusses to both. the Ego's fit in a pants pocket or lanyard while I am working and on my feet which is handy and less conspicuous than a mod. The 650 mah ego lasts for 4- 6 hours, the 1100 mah lasts around 9-10 and they recharge in an hour or 2.

The SID's are great for great clouds while relaxing at home. they give me a little more flexibility, and handle larger tanks better than the ego's. The batteries cost around 9 bucks and hold a charge for 15-20 hours. I have had zero issues with the build quality of the SID's, which I can't say regarding the ego's. I just returned a new one that arrived DOA. Also the Sid's handle dry burning atty's, and using for dripping better than the ego.

Why not have both?

Why just the two choices? There are so many options out there. If the SID price range is infact in your range might I suggest the Innokin SVD, great mod and telescopic to boot. Just got mine last night and have barely put the thing down.

A SID was on my list for a short time, but I kept hearing (reading) bad things about SMOK. I haven't had any personally bad experiences with thier products, and I have friends that use a SID.

I am constantly on the watch for a new MOD so I have a running list of what my next mod will be (which is a very fluid list lol), I guess my point is don't limit yourself when the options are practically limitless. It all depends on what you like and what you want it to do.

I'm not altogether impressed with the SLB product line...which is the company that makes that eGo V Mega you are looking at. Not saying they are "bad"...but they don't have the best longevity. Not that particular "brand".

On the other hand I've had very good performance and longevity from Smoktech products. I have a couple of SIDs and really like them. The menu is versatile and easy to navigate, and it's a solid mod without the high price of some of the more "popular" mods. I'd go with it, myself, for the sort of thing you are wanting to do. Replaceable batteries are a plus, as has been pointed out. When the battery dies..you just switch out to a fresh one and recharge the spent one...you don't have to switch out your atomizer/tank or device. Just my opinion.
