I have the red SiD, the bottom cap is kind of crunchy, and batteries are not easy to get in. I have found that taking the tube off(threads are much better on the tube) and putting the battery in that way works fine. I've noticed the display has stopped lighting up a few times, (resolved by taking the battery out), and also the display just gets wonky while going through options.

Other than those few small things I'm very happy with it! Just hope the display issue doesn't turn into a major issue later on.

Looking at the SID. My current MOD just bite the dust. Looks like a good price.

Anyone having problems with the SID. Have read about battery issue. I have Samsung flattop un-protected and (EH IMR buttom top from madvape).

Any feedback would be appreciated?
EH IMR button top (or flat top) fit the SID perfect. They are what I use daily.

Hi. Didn't know where else to post this (noob) so I hope it's okay I am posting it here. Just got my SID in the mail yesterday and no matter what voltage/wattage I put, all I tasted was crap!! I was using a pro tank, tried a few other 510 clearomizers n still tasted bad!! I'm so bummed out. This is my first mod and I was hoping itd work out....at least better than what it did. Oh and not to mention (someone else posted this too) it kept turning off for no reason or would be on but not fire (using imr18650 flat top efest batts)!! Only been vaping for bout 2 months now, so still learning. Idk what to do! Should've gone with the itaste svd which was my other choice. Only got this one because I wanted it in pink lol.

Start at 7w, that's usually where I have mine set to.

YanyS -

keep in mind as well that certain atomizers will always have a burnt taste once they're scorched. If you started the SID off at 8+ watts (depending upon juice) you may have scorched the atty/cartridge and will need to replace it. If it were me, I'd try the same atomizer on your standard battery and see if the taste returns to normal. If it does, let us know what the battery is as well as the resistance of your atomizer and we should be able to point you at a wattage setting that should approximate what you're used to.

Good luck and don't quit!

Hey!! I usually have it a pretty low setting because I'm terrified of that burnt taste. Right now i have an efest 2200mah flat top in my SiD. I'm using a protank (2.5ohm), I have the volts at 3 and the watts at 6.5. Thanks so much for the help! Um....another question.is it safe to use Panasonic ncr18650b 3400mah batteries in my SiD and in a tesla? I posted this somewhere else but can't find it now. LoL I'm on my phone and haven't really gotten the hang of navigating throughout the forum yet.
Thanks in advance!

It should be either volts or watts, not both. My advice for starting out is to stick with watts. If you are getting a burnt taste I'd suggest replacing the head and starting over.

PS- look up cleaning protank or evod heads(same thing) on YouTube, if you haven't yet.

my SiD seems to be working okay. I have noticed the LED going out issue which is resolved by removing and reinserting the battery. there was also one point (when it was 103 outside) that not only did it stop working but the APV seemed to only be dumping the battery current instead of my 8.5 watts. Again removing and reinserting the battery fixed that (electronics must have gotten a little toasty. it was a very hot day and it didnt happen after that).

Things i will point out to potential buyers after a week of me using mine: it will remember your wattage setting but if you set anything else it will forget it as soon as you take out the battery (Display setting and voltage setting if you are on voltage mode. it will also forget that you are on voltage mode and switch back to wattage mode). also when switching from voltage mode to wattage and back again it will default back to 3 volts. Not expecting provari performance but if it remembers the wattage setting then why cant it remember the rest?

overall a great device though; battery seems to last longer than in my provari (its a v1 thats 2 years old; wanted something that i wouldnt be afraid to take with through the airport).

Just for clarity- Most of the "MAX" style devices do this, not just the SiD.

2 weeks old - the crunchies on mine are mellowing out some now.
The anodized finish look was also applied to the threads (sloppy, I'd say)on the bottom cap also.
If you took some scotchbrite pad (green) you can remove it yourself. I don't mind it, it probably helps keep the cap from loosening up some during the day. No problems with mine so far.

I bought a SID last week and I'm loving the ____ out of it! I'm running the green flat top Panasonic 18650's with either a IBTanked with a 3.2 ohm Smok Carto, or Protank II with the ohms coming in at around 2.7.

My question is, why do some of my cheap clearos seem to vape continuously, but the cartotank setup and the Protank setup seem to stop firing after about what seems like 5-6 seconds?

Is this a normal occurrence that has to do with the processor (i.e. safety switch), or did I get a bunk mod?
