I picked one up a couple of days ago. It feels a bit lighter than the Vamo with an 18650. Problem I'm having with mine is occasionally when I hit the button it takes a few seconds to actually start firing. Aside from that, it works about as well as expected. Probably take a few months to see how durable it is.

Thanks for this DuaneNeveu!

How does the SID compare to the Vamo in 18650 mode? My Vamo is quite "long and heavy"!

Cheers

  • The SID stands at about 5 3/16" high, and weighs in at 119 grams (including 43 gram Efest 2000mAh battery).
  • In 18650 mode (including 43 gram Efest 2000mAh battery), my Vamo stands 5 5/16" high, and weighs in at 177 grams.

The Vamo is a weighty beast, in that, even in its 18350 mode with a battery mine weighed 130 grams (11 grams more than the SID)

The SID's girth is pretty much identical to the eVic, making it bigger around than the Vamo, and fatter still than the ZMax.

I did start recently... Only a couple weeks now... And I agree with everything you said... So again, thank you! heh heh

I picked up the red SID on saturday from CanVape at the Downsview flea market... Along with a matching Evod BCC tank in a matching color and texture!! (Hey look... I'm even getting the hang of all the acronyms now lol) oh... and that same Efest battery ;)

WOW!! I love this thing... So much more vapor!

Also grabbed a bottle of Paradise Vapes - Cinnamon Danish (and met it's designer) and WOW again!... Absolutely delicious

Oh No's!!! I ordered 2 of those from fasttech too!

Duane (or anyone else who already purchased the SID), would you mind checking if any of the other high drain Panasonics will fit?

I'd like to order another set from fasttech that will fit... I'm hoping one of the PD's will fit... Maybe the http://www.fasttech.com/products/14...onic-ncr18650pd-18650-36v-2900mah-rechargeabl (NCR18650PD )

Appreciate any help you guys can give...
I just got my green Panasonic high drain batteries yesterday, my SID is supposed to arrive tomorrow, I'll let you know if someone else doesn't know already.

When reading the CanVape webpage for the SID, I read that "It likes 18650 unprotected batteries and IMR efest's with the label peeled off".

Before I bought my SID, I was back and forth via email with Tom from CanVape. Here are some excerpts from what he shared with me, including details about their battery experiences:

Tom from CanVape within a handful of emails said:
Hey Duane, The clearance was that tight on the unit we are testing. I am also going to grab one. The coating is funky I can't tell what it is feels like a big joyetech eGo battery if that helps.

The Silver does not have the rubbery feel to it, it is coated similar to the eVic. I can't see anyone being disappointed with the Mod. Works very well. First thing we did because of the Zmax and Vmax was try and destroy the 510 pin gasket and it seems to be holding up in a joyetech fashion. If it was the Z or V it would already be in the waste basket. Let me know if you have more questions I'll do my best.

The spring is substantial enough and the design is good for either (the nipple top, or flat top battery). This isn't the vamo in any way. It has a nice fit and finish upgraded trigger button to the Z/Vmax I can't say I've found anything I don't like about it other then the "rattle snake" once in a while that they all seem to have.

Once I received mine, before doing any peeling, I gently tried fitting one of my (orange) Efest 2000mAh IMR 18650 batteries, and though a little snug, it fit without there being any real trouble getting it back out. The Pepto Bismol coloured Panasonic (I believe) that came with my eVic kit is slightly more snug-fitting, and I needed to shake it a little to get the battery out.

Sorry I can't help much more. Tom's experience differs from mine, so I can't say for sure whether you'll have to do any label peeling, or if the Panasonics will fit or not.

Sadly, that Panasonic is too fat for the SID. I know because I ordered two of them with mine.

Im using the cgr18650 in mine no problem. Heres a pic, one with a protank I just got today :) BTW I love the SID. Had 2 vamos that refused to work. Saw this on sale for 40 bucks and jumped on it. Very happy with it so far. Protank works awesome on it too!!

The pink battery that comes with an eVic is a samsung battery, not that it really matters. I've got 2 of the green panasonic, one pink samsung, and one button top efest so I'm sure I can find at least one of them will work. I'll post what I find out when it arrives.

I've been reading up on reviews and I'd like to purchase this for my first VV VW device. I'm having a bit of difficulty finding it in the colors they offer. I'm in NC, and most of the sites I have bookmarked are selling only the chrome version.

Could anyone recommend a place in the US that offers the color options at a decent price?

This thing is already down to $45 bucks. I wanna see it come down to $25. Why not?
I mean your kid can win a digital planner made in china at chucky cheese with 100 tickets.
(ehh they are made of plastic but the electronics are just as sophisticated)
Our e-cigs are literally dim switch flashlights to the industrial factories of china.
Lets get this thing down to $25 bucks in a couple months!! :D I'll get one.

I am LOVING my SID... And yes, the price is down on the CanVape site too... Having jumped to this from an eGo-C... I'm going through juice more than twice as fast hahahaha. But wow do I ever get a lot of vapor!

Thanks all for the battery info... I saw the post about peeling the Efest battery sticker and found no need even though I bought that exact battery. I have a feeling the Panny's I ordered will just be a snug fit too :)
