There are simple ways to get around this issue. In China there are wholesalers that get product slightly above production cost. Then these Chinese wholesalers are more than happy to sell in bulk to the US for co-ops. Smoktech only makes this statement to make their "US authorized vendors" feel better. I know this to be a fact since I have run a co-op for the LT mini before they came out and were only supposed to be available to Volcano in the US.

His emotions get the better of him a couple of times, but his message about this device is very important. It lacks the most basic of safety features. No hot spring and the tube seals up air tight with lacking even simple venting. That's just a pipe waiting for the circumstances to turn it in to high speed shrapnel

Just playing devil's advocate, let me point out 2 things.
1 - It's smoktech. I'm kind of a n00b, and I know they make cheap cloned crap for the most part. In Smoktech's marketing literature, it says that they ripped the design off the Empire Mod and just made it cheap. If anyone planned on using it without assuming they'd need to buy a hot spring and mod it………well……idk. You really shouldn't have to do that, but when I considered ordering one, I was planning on seeing if a silver bullet hot spring from altsmoke would fit in it. I'd also planned on drilling holes in it if I got one. I'm not going to because, well, I just don't see what advantages it has over something like a Silver Bullet anyway (the price difference of like $30 is negligible). I can also understand why he didn't melt a hot spring for no reason, but it would have helped the review to show that a hot spring will react to a lighter and doesn't require a current to fail safe.
2 - The balloon does prove that it's air tight up to a certain pressure. But……uhh………he didn't pop the balloon, which means he wasn't squishing it very hard at all. It takes a lot more pressure inside the pipe to make a bomb than he can make with his hands squishing a balloon.
I agree that it's BS that a mod comes without those basic safety features, and I think it's kind of BS that gotvapes is defending smoktech here………but like everything else discussed on forums, there's a lot of BS and snake oil going around anyway. And they're a vendor. No offense to them (at all), but just like reviews on vendors' sites: caveat emptor. If you trust a vendor to allow completely uncensored reviews and give a completely honest opinion over the internet, then you are far too trusting. I like them. They're friendly. They're among the vendors that threw in extra bags to help me organize juice and attys just because I asked them to and they gave personal(ish) feedback on the packing slip to answer my order comments. They have a lot of cool stuff that they take chances on, and their prices aren't that high considering all the stock that they probably throw away. I'll order from them again. But you don't trust them about what to buy from them without a huge grain of salt, nor anyone else.
I used to work in sales. That means is that I'll never again trust a sales person of any kind.
So, yeah…despite the fact that I'd already come to that conclusion (not to buy it) and the problems with the review, I'm glad you posted it. If nothing else, I think it shows how shoddy it is better than smoktech's or gotvapes's photos do.

We were arguing if this mod actually had a hot spring. Doesnt matter now Gotvapes pulled the mod until they speak with smoktech about it.
The two mods it takes a shot at are the Empire Mod and the GG- at least in the telescoping form.

I think more of us Americans would buy these American products if they were more readily available, even at higher prices. Can't get a Zenesis,kick, Empire mod, or VV Reo unless you are on a waiting list. Sometimes too you don't want to spend so much money on something that is going to endure some abuse at work or in the yard or at the beach, etc, etc. I personally am not going to go out and mow my yard with an orion in my pocket. What compounds the problem is people with resources hoarding these great mods, and re-selling them on the classifieds for much more. This Chinese duplication is nothing new, have you not noticed that american manufacturing has gone to the toilet over the past twenty years. don't know what the answer is, just saying, although I would like to continue to buy all american, it is hard to justify buying an empire telescope for 500$ when I get a smoktech tele for 55$. And you don't have to fight for it cause they are going to be everywhere. Right now there is a huge sweatshop in china churning this stuff out faster than we can imagine. Did'nt mean to rant, sorry bout dat. I would love to see American products everywhere instead, quality is almost as good as european!
This device looks ugly and has been said to blow up. I would get the VMax if you want a real high performance PV...just my opinion. You can get a revision 4 blue LED eGo top cap VMax for $77 with 6 month warranty.
