I've been playing around with various finishing methods. The satin one is finished with scotchbrite and I redid it after reading o another thread about using a drill with an old carto to spin the mod while using the sctochbrite or sandpaper....I finished the more polished looking one with sandpaper up to 600 grit as that's the finest I had. Time to go buy some finer paper to get a real polished finished. I also finished my IGOs the same so they would match the mod...

I wonder what car detail rubbing compound on a towel while spinning the mod would do. That stuff is like liquid sand paper and comes in different grits as well. You can buff the paint right of a car with the stronger stuff, so I'm sure if will buff metal up.

I started with 340 grit sandpaper, the 400, 500, and finally 600. Yes I did wet sand it. I'm sure if I had finer grit up to 2000 or so it would get nice and shiny but I like it the way it is. The rubbing compound would be a great idea. I read in another forum a guy used mag polish for the final polish as well.

If I wasn't afraid of turning the screw into a missile, I'd take it out to the shop and polish it on my buffer.

You guys are really on to something. And the timing is perfect! Thanks for the tips. Now I got a Natural with a nearly flush (~1mm) fitting Aga with a 1ohm coil. The Aga finish didn't turn out too good, but it's no longer shiny, and I know I can just go back and fix it up later. Used 400grain paper to rough it up since my fake-bright wouldn't cut it.

Just got mine in yesterday. Beautiful mod, very nice threads, light button. Steel walls are thin though, would rather it was a bit beefier in that dept.

Question, anyone have tips to use this with a shortstop fuse and still be able to thread the mod all the way without gaps at the seems?

If anyone goes this route all you need is the blue compound for SS, start on the packed wheel and finish on the loose wheel. Just make sure to do your work near the bottom of the wheel and use very little pressure, let it do the work

what is the combo to get a kick fitting in this mod? i have EFest 18350 IMR, button top. fits tight, small tube. IMR 18500, button top does not fit... long. I just ordered some 18350 flat tops this morning. But i want to put a kick in this device. What batts will fit?

I use 18500mah EH flattop +Kick no gaps.

I didn't use this on my Natural but I did use it on my MKB-TS and Terminator-C with two steel tanks and well ...they no longer look like clones

OK, got my Natural + RSST today and wrapped up a new coil/wick - 400 mesh fat wick, 28AWG 3/4 wrap, .8ohms. Working very well, but when chain vaping the button can get quite hot. Is this normal for this mod?

Erm... I've never had the button get hot, even through a battery draining 2-hr chain vaping sessions.

Try disassembling the tubes and giving everything a good wash/scrub with some noalox along the threads to make things thread better.

The only thing I've had get warm is the battery, and that was more from my gorilla grip than anything else.

Sounds like intermittent short, I'd be firing it in the dark with the top off looking for hot spots on the mesh.
There shouldn't be any problem at .8
Disassemble switch and clean it perhaps.

I won one of these from Todd @ Todd's Reviews. Looking forward to its arrival. Have a Roller clone coming in soon from a co-op, so all the modification tips may be useful on it as well.

You can also take the top screw out and sand it down a bit to make more room and help with gaps.

Got my 18500 tube for the natural, looks and works great. With a atty and drip tip on, it's shorter than the vamo in 18650 mod with nothing attached.
