Good Sunday my VMax brothers,
I am getting along pretty good with my pv, tho I am fighting the urge to get a chrome one, we girlies love shiney!! ;) Plus the list of things I want to get and try keeps getting longer.....lol

Guess its bout time to put a couple of my high dollar tanks I can't use up for sale so I can get some stuff that I can use. I need one of those chargers, some more batteries, some fusions, some higher om cartos, o and now I guess I need a tiny mite, so I can punch cartos for the tanks I can use. It never stops does it??? At least I have my juices covered, Altcig keeps me satisfied in that department!!

Happy vaping y'all ;)

Actually my very 1st setup with it was no flavor also, then the next day I re-worked my setup a bit thinkin my coils may be too loose on the wick......NOPE, that wasn't it. So I did another wick and changed my coil wrapping to off the did instead of while the while the wick is in it....much easier and much better hold, tightness, and spacing...perfect. Than I filled it up after finally seeing all the coils glowing evenly, for the 1st time........and wow the flavor woke up. I didn't do 1 thing but set it down long enough to post that outcome...picked it back up...and WTH......flavor GONE and hasn't returned since, thats when I edited the post. So yeah....thats it in a nutshell. VERY DISAPPOINTED AT THIS POINT, looks like I'll be trading or selling a GT-US & my DID together for something I really want that works for me.

Really sad to hear this as I've yet to set up my DID and experience what it offers (still waiting for Kanthal to arrive).
I've heard tobacco juices may not take well to Genesis atty's. Have you tried any other flavors?
This thread discusses wick options other than steel mesh. Incredible what some people have been using (diapers...heheh) and swearing by the flavor production:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/modding-forum/284030-wick-materials-safe-vs-dangerous.html

I can see how RBA's are not for everyone but perhaps it's worth exploring a little further before throwing in the towel on it...just sayin' because so many others appear to be happy with it. As for me the jury is still out until I complete my 1st functional coil.

No idea,a tiny barely noticeable plume of smoke went up from the top and that`s all she wrote....it was sitting straight on my desktop

Oh man doesn't sound like a good day today in Vmaxville. Hopefully your vendor will make this right. Any other symptoms or warnings prefacing this dreadful outcome?

On a more positive note I've been putting the Firebird bottom coil cartomizers through their paces on the vmax. This is the same product as the Phoenix. So far I'm impressed by their performance. They only hold about 1.5ml of juice and require a syringe to fill but having paid about $10 for a pack of 5 including the filler syringe, I'd put them on the thumbs up list for the vmax and an inexpensive option to try as an alternative to cartos, tanks and RBA's. I'm getting great vapor production and TH, and good (but not great) flavor. You have to fill them a certain way (upside down and no air getting in) or they won't perform well but when filled properly they're quite good. Better than the Stardust types IMHO. No idea about their longevity as I've only been using them approx 4 days.

No, make the TOP hole bigger than the pre-punched!

No Freddie....on BOGES you can make the hole bigger , on Smoktechs you want it NO bigger than the prepunched. "IF" it isn't giving the top coil enough and not flooding you can always make it a bit bigger on your 1st try to get it just right for "your setup" but you can't make the hole smallr if you go too big from the start. After you get it perfect then on your next carto / tank setup you know exactly what to do.

Don't sweat it Freddie, you and I covered so much in our phone conversation that night it's a wonder you remember anything from it. Your head was probably close to exploding. lol

Actually I just checked tracking and I will have them tomorrow...
So J I should make the top hole on the smoketechs no bigger than the pre punched hole circumference?

Thats correct, on Smoktechs you just want the juice to dribble in to feed the top coil a couple drops of juice, but only when your actually vaping, at that 45 degree angle, on boges you can make the hole much bigger (denser filling)....Start off small, use the 1st carto as kind of a tester. You can always make the hole a bit vbigger if need be. What mix is your juice, that will be a factor.

Yeah...I was trying to test a new coil on my Vmax and it kept resetting itself...cant be the coil as the Vmax has protection for that and I only do high res coils anyways.

Heard the switches can be problematic on Version 1.

Heard that too although I haven't seen any such problems reported after the 1st 2 weeks or so subsequent to the initial release.

Can you describe what you mean by 'resetting itself?' A good description might provide others with enough of
a warning should they start to experience something similar.

Yeah, the switch blue led would flash and the screen reset to 5.00 then went F1 like 5 times in a row...then the smoke happend.

Now nothing goes on if I push the button but if I remove the batts,it flashes and reads 5.00 then shuts down with nothing screwed on it or with anything screwed on it,and only 1 time...to do more test, gotta remove the batts again...it did smell like burning electronics but just a tiny wee bit.

Hey All,

My mod should be here today, but still needing to buy the batteries.

I heard the Efest batteries are the best for the Vmax.

Should I get nipple or nipple free???

Looks like the price is cheaper if I buy a box of them. I would have extra, so if anyone thinks they would sell in the claasifieds, let me know and I will order that why.

Thanks in advance,
Melissa.

Either will work, but the ones with nipples will be easier since you won't have to put a spacer between them. You'll want at least four so you can be vaping while one set charges. And how many come in a box? I don't think you'd have a problem selling them in the classies--I'd be interested in a pair just to compare to my AW's, and because I have other PV's that use them :)

Just got a Vmax last week. Works great, but I'm also getting a similar "reset" scenario

Once the batteries ("tz" IMRs) get to about 7.0 volts, if I use a 1.5 ohm atty the screen and button just flash a few times and it resets to 5V. No F1 though. A higher ohm atty it will fire just fine at this point. But 1.5 only from fully charged down to about 7.0. I was guessing it was the generic batteries not being able to handle the drain?
