VAPNJ350,

This probably sounds like a silly question but if you're using a IMR with a high discharge rate would that make any difference to the quality of the throat hit?

I swear my AW's seem to pack a bigger punch than the no-name 18350's...

I feel the same thing, when I was testing knock off 18350's in the Chrome prototype VMAX I noticed also a huge difference in TH and all around vapor production and performance when using AW's and E'fest compared to any inferior battery. The "true" high drain chemical makeup of the internals Of a IMR battery have A LOT less resistance over the standard pcb protected battery.
ANALOGY: Take a 10 ft. long by 4ft. around steel tube, make 2 that are identical, in the #1 tube coat the walls with every oil known to man and maybe a little butter for a little added SLIPPPP factor. lol, In tube # 2 put sand in it. Now get a running start and jump in with the goal of making it out the other side. Tube #1 is a "TRUE" IMR ""HIGH DRAIN"" They discharge at a HIGH RATE they charge up at a high rate and much faster than a pcb battery due to the little internal resistance factor. Try this 1:: take a AW IMR and a PCB protected ICR battery, prefferably the same mAh rating, both AW's if you got em. Put them in the same charger making sure they charge at the same mAh rate (if you have a selectable independent charging feature) and watch just how much faster the IMR charges up compared to the ICR battery. I have many different 18350 batts. Protected and IMR safe chemistry high drains, and many different brands of each when I went thru the battery testing. ALL the IMR's charged much faster than any ICR batt. Like 40% faster on Average. But now ONLY 2 18350's charge even faster than the other IMR's and the ONLY 2 BRANDS YOU'LL FIND IN MY vmax'S.....E'FEST IMR #1 and for my backups AW IMR #2. Yes you read that right. E'fest IMR is now my Primary battery. All in All....yes even I feel a significant diference in TH , VP, and overall performance in my Max's when using those 2 batts. compared to any other IMR or ICR batt. I hope this answered your question and maybe shed some light on the subject for some others also. Take care everyone and have a great day !!!!

Hey guys....out of pure curiousity try doing this......When you charge 2 batteries in the 3P4 TF charge the 2 batteries in slot 1 and 3. Then meter and see if anything changes. Then next charge try the 2 and 4 slot. Then meter again. Also if possible try to take note if they both charge equally in time. The Intelligent i4 charger uses a split power method,as do a lot of multiple bay chargers, when charging only 2 batts you should use offset slots as 1 and 3 will charge at a even 750mAh rate with 2 batts inserted or the 1 and 4 bays. When all 4 bays are used the 1500 total mAh rate will be divided by all 4 bays charging 4 batts equally. Give it a shot, see what happens.....not going to promise a different outcome than your getting now....but theirs a chance this charger uses the same type of charging technology.

Made no difference J. Regardless of alternate slot use one always comes off at 4.26, the other at 4.25. Every time. I'm not that concerned, will just have to replace the batteries a little sooner I guess.

The first time I charged an AW I thought something was wrong with my charger - couldn't believe how fast it was.
Going to have to get some Efest batteries - they sound cool and they're pretty reasonably priced too.

Fuzzi this time around I really think you should just get a batt charger combo, grab the intelligent i4 or a WF-188 when you go to get batts this time....in the long run it really will be much cheaper. Im using the new Intelligent i4 4 channel charger...I've literally charged every battery in my house...... clocks, tv remote, multi media interface 5x8" l.e.d. remote, every rechargable battery I own this thing has charged.....it's awesome.

Concerning Vmax brand batteries 18350 750 mah
On Allibaba page you can find them listed as Ultrafire @ 1200mah protected li-on.
I do not think they perform any lesser than AW's as I have a pair of each.
So are they 1200 mah labeled 750 mah or are they IMR's.
If they are 750 mah li-on's they are sure cheap ones and work real good.
Just my thoughts and observation.
Wouldn't it be great if VAPNJ350 would test these?

That charger looks good. Do you know where to get one and at a good price?

I've since also reviewed the USPS bulletin on international shipments of Lithium batteries which reads in part (from the USPS site)

Effective May 16, 2012, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) part 136 to codify that pri.mary lithium metal or lithium alloy (nonrechargeable) cells and batteries or secondary lithium-ion cells and batteries (rechargeable) are prohibited when mailed internationally or to and from an APO, FPO, or DPO location.

According to my reading (emphasis added), are IMR safe chemistry (LI Mn) batteries not exempt from these restrictions? They are neither nonrechargeable lithium metal/alloy nor are they lithium ion rechargeables.

Manganese (the Mn) is the ion bonded to the lithium to provide the electrical storage chemistry. They are, in fact, "lithium-ion," they just use a different ion than 'normal" LiIon batteries...

:)

Thanks pwyll, as you can see, chemistry wasn't one of my stronger subjects. But it's all coming back to me now

Are you talking about the Ultrafire or the "VMAX" red/black batteries ? I've tested MANY Ultrafire. If Ultrafire all I need is the model and I've probably already done them. Let me know which ones in detail you speak of. Take care. .....J

My EFEST batteries showed up from CCV today! :) But no magnets :( Not to big a deal, but I need to get some. Would something like these work?

MAGCRAFT® - Rare Earth Magnet - Disc, 0.125 in. Diameter x 0.03125 in. Thick, 150-Count

More then Ill ever need, buy I might find a use for them elsewhere! Thanks for the help again!

I'm sure CCV will correct that oversight if you let them know. They are selling them in 10 piece lots if you choose to go that way. Crystal Clear Vaping
