Thanks. Yeah I dont have a harbor freight in buffalo but Ill see bout ordering one online. Or Ill check out the saddle valve idea that epic mentioned. Yes, 801's too thanks for the correction. Cutting the tank is no big deal. I think I also have spare syringe tubes the same size I can cut and use if I screw up.

Ill wait on getting something to do holes tho. For now Im just trying it with the 1.4 dc that came with the dct. Not impressed by it tho and I can taste the carto filler. Maybe after it breaks in a bit itll be better. Im using a rather robust vg 555 in it at the moment which i know well to judge the flavor. It makes me wanna switch back to my vivi tho... lol.

Maybe venture to the hardware store tomorrow. Thanks again.

Buff....whats up buddy.....these are 801's NOT 808's. Just so were clear. The collar fits right in the indention on the bottom cap. The plates on smoktech cartos ARE NOT for sealing the bottom or keeping it from leaking....merely to give it a STOPPING point. THATS IT...nothing more...nothing less. The inner O-rings in the bottom cap is what keeps it sealed and free from leaking. Unless you have XL 801's you will need to cut the tube on the tank (that's what I did). You will need a dremel but it doesn't have to be an $80 name brand to get the job done nicely. Harbor freight tool company has a $10 dremal kit that has 80 pieces in it and has EXACTLY the diamond tip bits that I use to do this with. $10 bucks ya can't beat it. Far as other tools to do holes with...not sure, a drill press will work for sure. A standalone drill ? Not real sure or confident about that 1. I know your excited to try this but having the right tools and waiting till you do is much better than wasting the money you spent on the cartos and tank if you destroy them in the process of getting them prepped for function. This is why I was trying to send you a setup already done so all you had to do was put your juice in it and vape away......O'well . If you need any help just let me know.

Buff.....Thats also what I really like about the 801 Fusions. The filler taste is gone after 4-5 good draws. Atleast with all the juices I use anyway. Also if you like a GREAT 555 you have to order some "Triple 5" from www.viginiacustomblends.com, it is hands down the best 555 I've ever had to date. After 2 yrs. of searching.

The main difference from 510 to 801 to me is wicking, coil, and vapor production. The filler isn't wound so tight and so dense that the juice just doesn't wick well at all like in a 510. In a tank they really shine due to extremely fast saturation and wicking. With 510's I got a constant burnt taste due to wicking and the lack thereof. The filler is just so dense the juice just can't flow thru it very well. I vape 60pg and still have wicking issues with 510's....until I made the switch to 801's. And the flavors of my juices are so much more prevalent and robust. Maybe give it a bit more time and see if you start to notice all the subtleties that others have also.

lol probably just shows the difference between vapers...my 510's i only punch one hole vs the 801 where i have to almost do the 5 hoel punch that you do to get what i feel is the same wicking...who knows at least we can all agree the vmax kicks ... :)

i'm still looking for that perfect vape...probably won't ever happen with people who like to tinker hahahaha

HOLY VAPING ....you must be adding a new meaning to the term "chain vaping". Im trying to wrap my head around what temp it would have to reach to kick in that protection circuit. Thats crazy. Well ...on the upside atleast we know it works. lol

I've tried the dremal with the hole tips to no aval.
I like the metal cutting tip. It does lines, not holes.

Has anyone used this carto punch from Valley View Vapes? It sure is cheap enough and the guy makes some nice inexpensive tanks that I plan on trying.
Cartomizer Punch

If you can hold off on buying a hole punch, there will be a co-op shortly for one in another site.
It is similiar to the Siam Co.

I placed an order on some 4 ohm single coil cartos. The vapor and flavor, on my lower ohm cartos and atties seem rather thin. No matter what voltage I try.
I get thicker vapor and a deeper flavor, with my 35.00 vv box mod, than my Vmax.

Jimi....on the VMAX you really want a 2.8Ω or higher carto. I use 3.0Ω cartos ONLY, they all start out at 2.8Ω but end up at 3.0Ω after 4-6 hours of vaping. At that voltage I keep the VMAX from 3.2- 3.6 volts and have tons of flavor, not 1 bit of burning, and enough vapor to give you a nice thick vapor throat hit, which is the ONLY kind of TH I like, need or want. Let me know how those 4Ω singles work out for you. Another carto Im starting to warm up to, believe it or not, by Fuzzi's account is the DC 2.0Ω at 4.0 volts. Not the flavor the Fusions put out but not too bad at all.
